Lesbian Simulator 2015 Needs More Romance

The Rebirth games are my first experience with the Neptunia games, which I never got into cuz I assumed they were fanservicey trash, which they can be here and there. (Tongue scene I'm looking at you.) But what I really liked about Rebirth 1 was that it sort of treats lesbian and bisexual women as the default. Noire is incredibly tsundere for Neptune, and Vert and Iffy crushing hard on each other was cute and funny and I was rooting for them the whole game.

I was very happy to see that Rebirth 2 keeps up with the queer women default, tho the gross straight dudes present in some scenes (Like the concert, just to offer an example) kinda muddied that for me, but on the whole I'm still hype as hell about this game. I just got the True ending, already have gotten the Conquest and Normal endings, and I'm planning on getting all the others.

The one thing that still bugs me about Rebirth 2 is just that there doesn't seem to be a reciprocated attraction like there was between IF and Vert in Rebirth 1. Chika lusts for Vert, but Vert doesn't seem to lust for Chika. Cave is clearly in love with 5pb. but we don't see enough of 5pb. to ever know if she feels the same about Cave. (I will say tho that one scene between Cave and 5pb. reminded me of how my own girlfriend and I act toward each other) Neptune is too busy being LOLSORANDOM (she is funny don't get me wrong) to notice that Noire feels that way about her. Etc etc. (I even think Underling might have been in love with CFW Magic, tho I'm not certain of that.)

Anyway, I just wanted to vocalize this, show that there are queer women who are super into these games for that aspect, and vocalize my hope that Rebirth 3 has some reciprocated lesbian romance. I'm really excited for when it makes its way onto Steam and will buy it the moment it does.

Wait, it took you until the second game to notice the "gross straight dudes"? Ganache-the-character-that-is-all-that-is-wrong-with-fanboyism was in R;B1 you know! (of course, Ganache was just another joke stereotype)

As for your "concerns". Vert cares for Chika. She immediately notices when the latter is actually sick, not just faking it, and drops everything to help her. Chika is also the only reason Vert decides to fight to the death - after all, someone she dearly loves is waiting for her back home. Something none of the others had, so they stood down and took one for the team. But not Vert, because there's a girl who'll be really upset back home if she gives herself up.

Neptune too busy being "random"? That's just Neptune being Neptune, and I suspect she knows how Noire feels about her, she just likes to tease. Nep-Nep is the kind of girl who would drive you up the wall because of the odd way she shows her affection.

Uh, and Underling and Magic? Well. Back to Ganache analogy there.

The brothers in RB1 were the worst. I'm glad that they're relegated to sidequests that give the villain's shares this time around, cuz it kinda sends the message home. It didn't take me to this game I guess it just bothered me more this time around?

Also like I know the character stuff you bring up but in the text of the game it still comes off as kinda one-sided attraction to me. Definitely not on the same level as Vert pulling IF into her bosom and IF commenting, "This is heaven~" with hearts over her head.

Well that's because in this game Vert has upgraded her sights to Nepgear instead. So expect it to be more of a VertxNepgear pairing from here on out.

Pretty much even the fandom kind of plays up on this, and what's even worse is that in Action Unleashed you get an achievement for pairing up Vert and Nepgear for a mission.

But back to Iffy, she'd be paired up with Compa more than anyone else in more ways than one.

And finally you can't really falut NepNep at all in anything, since she's just being NepNep, and why would you have it any other way here?

While I did originally get these games to play them for the JRPG aspect, I do appreciate this retrospective look upon the series.
Speaking of Vert and Chika, did you see that massage scene? :)

My only complaint about that pairing is the whole sister part. While not true sisters, obviously, that just seems a bit weird to keep calling each other sisters, while one lusts for the other.

Perhaps I'm not used to the way sister can be used.

Vert, Chika, and Nepgear also seems to like Butler Harem simulator, but perhaps I'm missing out on how amazing that game could be. :)

I do like the references this game does to other games, especially in the credits sequence.


As for Underling, I'm just disappointed she never stopped driving you crazy. :)

I actually liked more Vert x IF than Chika x Vert,not that I dislike Chika(I mean i like Chika).Also,Yea,it could have been so nice some private scenes between Nepgear and Uni like Neptune had with Nowa in rebirth:1.

You clearly don't watch enough anime XD Siscon is quite common XD

"Normal" people are not interested in their siblings only because you "cannot" fall in love with someone you grew up with... theoretically... And they did not "grew up" together so it's... plausible :p

You should definitely try it, it's the series that defined the Butler genre.

As for Vert and Chika. I also was a bit sad that it seemed that Vert didn't quite return the affection (even including the chirper events). That was until I saw the Conquest ending to see she cares, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ how she cares.
In the end all 3 of them Vert, Chika and Gear seem to have a good dynamic so they should be fine.

But my favorite scene is from MK2 where the makers all try to claim Compa as their wife only to get suddenly cut off by jealous IF. To quote NISA "The heroine's closed creaked opened"

One more interesting scene (for this thread's interests) was when NepGear introduced Nisa to the 4 goddesses and they all started saying how lucky she is to be surrounded by such beautiful women with Neptune stating to cross her out from the route list.
It turned out they thought she was a guy (since she is flat and tomboyish) which caused Nisa to run away in tears after Neptune sunk any attempts at salvaging the situation.

So all in all it seems that while the other 3 goddesses might, Neptune does not swing that way.

Manga seems reversed, in the game Compa is the one who gets jealous of girls around Nepgear. When IF kisses NepGear Compa even complains about it not being fair.

Uni seems to be doing the "I'm not blushing with the power of a thousand suns because I like you or anything" thing, while NepGear seems straight, acting normal and even asking others what she's meant to do when Red calls her her Wifey.

Cave and 5pb seem to have something going on, even their starting Liley rank is high.

Someone said the girls aren't actually sisters, but just use the term sisters, which confuses me as ingame it appears they all accept being related and compared to their older siblings.

CAVE and 5pb would have a close relationship due to how the real world companies were connected.

The girls aren't sisters as we think of families because they don't have parents. So in literal terms they are not sisters. Which is why the SisCon thing some of them have isn't the end of the world.

The sisters represent for the same respective Nation, but aren't "blood" persay.(do they even have blood??) The term is more figurative really.
