And then there are always morons like this. If you want to disagree with every little decision, and you know more Japanese than the authors, as you claim to, well - there's a version of the game out there that will cater to your needs perfectly. Go play that instead of whining like a broken motor here, while the rest of us enjoy the de-memeification.
Well, if you prefer people who go and want to censor cirtisicsm or only say "you only talk ♥♥♥♥ instead of contributing" but refuse to even see how "Ge-Ge" makes no sense and can't even argue that away except with something that's been refuted a hundred times already...and also go ahead and straight out LIE about what they made with their Edits... (calling it a ReTranslation, when it's only Edits)
Oh, and they also ignore questions, or no one has just read the question yet, won't say that they definitely ignore it, wouldn't be surprised by it through...

Uzume and Umio usually call everyone with the suffix "-chi". "Blacchi"/"Bracchi" (yes, no N), "Unicchi", "Nepucchi", "Gearcchi"/"Giacchi". Yeah, there is no proper translation.

True, there ya gotta make something up...if you don't want to leave it, which they maybe could as well have, since "-chi" isn't a proper suffix anyway, but whatever.

Regarding the "CPU" matter, it's actually acknowledged by the Japanese creators. The Japanese opening for Cho Jigen Taisen Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls Yume no Gattai Special has the term CPU for the four goddess characters, even despite the fact that Nepgear is actually only a CPU Candidate. (Well, just call it CPU team, since Nepgear belongs to them). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyVsLGKchHE

Ok, now that's more then surprising, especially since they never even used it on the japanese game's websites for the Goddesses(and NO ONE can complain when someone calls them that, afterall)...

@Yamino Takamaru: The problem with changing "Ge-Ge" into "Gear" is that there are not enough complainers to convince the retranslators. You see. The main purpose of "Ge-Ge" is being a nickname. Yes, it's not accurate as "Gear", but it's a nickname and it does do its purpose. And there many people who don't mind "Ge-Ge". I don't know if all of them are against "Gear", but there are only about three people (myself and another teammate included) who are against "Ge-Ge". Three people overriding the voices against the majority won't work. You have to find much more people to convince the entire team. While we managed to change IF's "Gear" into "Nepgear", it's different than "Ge-Ge". IF doesn't call Nepgear by any nickname, so that's an unncessary change from the official translation, the same with "Nep Jr.". Compa on the other hand, does call Nepgear by a (unaccurate) nickname. While I would like to change it myself, I can't.

RB3 will also have a little issue with CyberConnect2. While it's not a problem to get rid of "Cybercon" in RB2 due to her rare appearances, she appears more often in RB3, thus that nickname appears much more often. We cannot change it to her full name due to character limitations. Her name is too long for the text input. Oddly enough, "サイバーコネクトツー" is shorter than "CyberConnect2". However, we consider to change "Cybercon" into "CC2" to get a more appropriate abbreviation instead for an unneccessary nickname (well, the nickname was necessary for the official translations). If we does change it, just pretend to read "CC2" as "CyberConnect2". But I cannot promise anything.

@ImmaNovice: Well, I see...through, in this thread, counting you and me too, it was already 4 people against it at least(the other 2 being My1 and strigvir), and I think the number of people that said Ge-Ge should stay(without any sensible reasoning) were around the same...so it seems kinda tied...? But well...I dunno. Steam-Forums and stuff sadly don't have a poll-system of any kind, right? Most other polls could easily be rigged by either side, so that wouldn't be as ideal, to get an actual number of people that actually are even interested in this. Also, there were several people against Ge-Ge in the "Doerr's gone from IF"-Thread(dunno the exact name of the thread anymore) on the Re;Birth1-Steam-Forum, but then again, that doesn't speak for the other side either.

And that thing with CC2...while that's a kinda accurate shortening, as something similiar is also used in .hack a lot for CyberConnect Corporation, by it being shortened to "CC Corp". I personally don't think anything's wrong with doing that if the space isn't sufficient...personally, I don't think so. I mean, they(official) could well just have said she's abbreviated as CC2, would have made more sense in context...funny thing here through, I don't recall her being called "CyberCon"(sounds like "Cybertron"...) in Re;Birth1, or do I just not remember that?
ImmaNovice Nov 15, 2015 @ 3:35am
@Yamino Takamaru: "Cybercon" appears in RB2 and RB3.

I'm working with autists, and can confirm that you did in fact have seen a worse autist. A mirror will represent that person accurately.
My1 Nov 18, 2015 @ 11:26pm
Also wanting to be accurate != autism, at the very least there's a lot more behind it. I am an Asperger myself, which is at the very least one type and there are *way* worse types of autism.

I'm arguing with pedantic ♥♥♥♥♥ in a thread for a translation mod for a weeaboo JRPG. Only way I could have made it more obvious is if I started spouting dead memes from five years ago.
Taran Tatsuuchi Nov 19, 2015 @ 2:22pm
The vitriol that has shown up recently in this thread is uncalled for.

These people have taken time out of their own lives to try and help, and now all this hate is going on in their topic.

There isn't any problem with critizing their product, as long as you do it constructivly.

All you people spouting hate back and forth should be ashamed of yourselves.

To the team: Thank you for your work on this project, and I'm sorry about what is currently going on in your thread.

Why do people keep saying this?

. I actually enjoyed a lot of the references, including the first game, but that's just my opinion..
So did we, which is why we started the project to begin with, to make RB2's dialogue more in line with RB1's
strigvir Nov 20, 2015 @ 9:14am
You don't like it that much but you are okay with asspulled memes from the grandfather of moe himself?
