Question about arrows and trading
Haven't played URW for many years, still getting used to the recent(ish) changes. My question is about the new fetching system. My guy can't make regular iron-tipped arrows himself, since now he has to find a blacksmith and buy arrowheads from them. But I thought I can still produce stone-tipped and bone-tipped arrows and sell them for profit, even for a marginal one. After all, an arrow is an arrow.

Turns out, settlements refuse to buy stone-tipped arrows, at least of regular quality. So my questions are:

1. Is this intentional?
2. Should I even bother with bone-tipped arrows, or are those not tradeable also?
3. If I start making fish rods with bone fishhooks, will those be possible to sell?
4. If the answers to 2 and 3 are "no", what do I do with bones?

Thanks!

I've never seen villagers stock anything but iron-tipped (regular) arrows (edit: and broad-heads), so I'd imagine it's intended.

I don't think bone hooks are profitable either. Not entirely sure if they are worth selling but they are certainly not worth time and effort for value.

If you want to mass-produce something, boards are apparently still a good item to start with.

I prefer to use my piles of bones for dog food. Having a fed guard dog on duty in my settlement is indispensable.

Thanks for your advice. I don't think my dog will ever eat the ever-growing pile of bones, and I don't feel like buying more dogs.

Upon further testing, turns out villagers actually buy bone-tipped arrows. So it's just stone-tipped ones that they don't care for.

You would be surprised by how fast a dog can eat all our bones actually. I think it just barely keeps them from starving, so they end up going back to the bone more often.

IIRC, they will buy stone-tipped arrows, but only for low-value trades. IIRC, they will not accept any item that is worth less than 1/10th (or something) of the value of the thing being traded for, so stone arrows are useless for anything that isn't really cheap. But I'm pretty sure I was able to trade some stone arrows for a ball of twine (which has a base value of one-half of an iron arrow IIRC).

This should not be the case. You simply need more stone tipped arrows.

I've bought swords and metal jewellery with hundreds of roasted or salted cuts. Works like a charm.

Bones do not go bad. You can go away for a year if you want, and come back to your dog, alive and well. It will also help keep things safe while you're gone.

Bone tipped arrows can be sold even in small amounts.
Actually I haven´t sold any stone tipped arrows.
You may use it for your bow training or give it away as little gifts.
You can also use rough arrows or stone tipped arrows as payment for companions.
Companions acceppt everything as payment as long you give them enough of it.

Can confirm that. They even take animal dung.

I am already planning on traveling around with a cart full of animal dung to trade when we get carts one day.
