Building an L-Shaped cabin Possible?
So I'm trying to build a cabin thats not completely vertical, sort of like an upside down L. at first I thought they would connect after I added the ceilings + floors but there was still a gap in between the south east corner and the western wall. Do I have to use the eastern wall and a south east corner or am I just doing this wrong?

Upload a picture so I can see what you're trying to do, L-shaped buildings are perfectly possible, one of my cabins is like an L

Ah, I see what you mean now. I've actually never tried something of that nature, but I don't see why it won't work. If you can't get those two pieces to connect I know for sure that you can bring the western wall one tile upward, or the southern wall one tile to the east in order to leave enough space for you to put a regular wall and a proper corner.

Thanks for the reply! I'll try it out and see

Forgot to add, its a south west corner next to a western wall, if that has anything to do with it. I was thinking maybe I should try it with a north west corner?

Yeah, you can try all the combinations out and see if any of them work. Wish I could help more, but I've just literally never made a cabin with a small chunk taken out like that.

So I managed to get it working by placing a north east corner and then a south west corner below it, but it the clipping on it is weird and some grass shows but as far as im concerned its a closed cabin now with no openings. https://imgur.com/B1x3yLn

At this point I might just call it off and go with a rectangle shape. Cant really connect corners with corners

Yeah, right now there are no "corner-corner" connection pieces which makes it so you have to pull back one of the sides if you want to get the "L-Shape" proper. Sorry it didn't work out, but I hope to see a picture of your cabin when it is all done for real! :)

Haha no problems. I suppose this is just me getting used to the building system since this is only my 2nd character, love how true to nature this game really is, I mean just trying to check out which pieces will work exhausts my character and takes a couple in-game weeks! Almost froze to death and starved multiple times, although I've learned quite a lot on the way. I present to you, La Cabin: https://imgur.com/a/vxDmmaM
Would've spiced it up a bit, but it was either I go fishing or starve to death.

Perfect size and I'm sure you are happy to have a roof over your head, and you will be even more happy of that when winter falls.

This looks great, how long did that take to build?

My cabin took about 4-8 in game weeks. (I wasn't measuring completely correctly but I had ran into constant bouts of starvation due to fishing being my only source of food, as I didn't have enough good food to store, and didn't have any salt to make any salted food. Between fishing, cutting trees and making logs, crafting boards, and then finally building the cabin, by far the building was the easiest part, the cutting down trees and making logs and then hauling them back to my camp was the most tedious part of it all. However, after the first part of my log cabin was finished, it took another 3-4 weeks with trial and error to see if I could connect the log cabin, before finally going with the square shape. As for now I'm a bit lost on what to do, I headed to a village and took a job to find and kill some bandits and have tried to hire an adventurer, but he wants an absurd amount of food so in the mean time I've been fishing for some.

Good luck and don't die! And that's awesome thanks for the details :)
