Cord vs Rope vs Birch Bark Rope
I attempted to make a loop snare from birch bark rope, but was not able to, as it said it needed cord. Is there a fundamental difference between the two, and is it intentional that you cannot make loop snares from birch bark rope?

If so, are there any other notable differences between cordage and rope? I'm going to have to start stockpiling pilfered skivvies from Njerpez I kill now, I thought the new birch bark rope was the cure to all my woes. :lunar2019piginablanket:

birch bark rope is good enough for making rafts and and smoking stuff. Other than that it seems cords just use a different material - cloth.

Birch bark rope is too thick for some applications, such as making arrows and loop snares and the like. It isn't difficult to get cord now though, just lop off a little bit of some clothing and you can turn it into a long segment of cordage.

Excellent, that was what I thought. Definitely stockpiling old bits of clothing to cordify, now. Thanks!
