Seriously don't read it if you want to play the mobile sequel. Title of the thread, Eternal Senia 2.
So I'm going to do some spoilers for the sequel for those who don't want to deal with the grindy trash of the mobile 'sequel' that still isn't even 100% completed. Basically the primary 'arc' is completed (similar to the mod for Eternal Senia on PC here on Steam that adds in a 4th ending). However there's another arc that opens up kinda randomly and it seems really odd but still endearing and interesting. Unfortunately it is incomplete :(
So lemme very briefly summarize the story a bit:
-After ending #3 where Magaleta sacrifices herself to drain the Eternity curse from Senia and teleport her outside to the church, Alphinor (the Goddes of the Tower) decides to intervene and frees Magaleta from Eternity's curse. Unfortunately this doesn't mean Magaleta is allowed to leave the Tower of Eternity (aka Tower of Alphinor).
-Senia meets up with a warlock named Hugo and travels with him to Balder to get some information. Once in Balder she speaks with the Headmaster there who gives her the info she's looking for. Alphinor used to be a revered and kind goddess, but the people of the lands turned on her and slaughtered her followerers because reasons; in retaliation, Alphinor cursed all of them to become demonic-slaves in her tower. Alphinor herself became corrupted and filled with sorrow; eventually she decided that trapping people in eternal dreams would be the solution; they would feel no sorrow or pain or fear of death or any worries at all; her continued desire (in present time) is to fulfill the wishes of others through an eternal dream.
-Senia is confused by the info but Hugo the warlock has to go on a side trek to his village and she tags alongside another Sanctum priest named Briella who is a grown woman with the mentality of a 12 year old child because...reasons I guess.
-Hugo has an older brother who was cursed with corruption but Briella was able to purge it. Sometime during their stay some demons attack and a witch named Medea kills Hugo's older brother. Hugo vows revenge and fights her but he's too weak to stand up to her. He calls upon his warlock instincts and makes a vow to accept 'corruption' for a quick boost of power. It still isn't enough. He has trouble controlling it at times depending on the story events going on.
-Senia goes back to the Tower of Eternity/Alphinor in search of rescuing Magaleta. She's accompanied by the others (Little Fairy, Briella, Hugo, and then some irrelevant little kid they randomly find asleep in the field outside the tower.
-Once inside the tower, the fairy queen and the fairies attack Hugo on sight because of his warlock nature; Senia and the others convince her to help them otherwise. The Fairy Queen explains that Little Fairy is the only one strong enough to take over as Queen because the Queen herself is running out of mana and dying. Little Fairy wants to find a new home for the fairies outside the tower that naturally has a lot of mana from the earth.
-The Demon King is revived and still around; he is easily defeated. There's a final showdown with Alphinor (the goddess of the Tower) and Magaleta asks her for a wish for Senia to be safe; instead Alphinor pulls an Ending #1 and Senia becomes a mindless zombie trapped in an eternal dream. Magaleta cries and yells and pleads with the goddess that this isn't what she wished for but the goddess claims otherwise. Senia, through sheer force of will and the love of her sister's voice manages to break free and wake herself up from the dream. Both sisters manage to make it back to the church and you get the same result as Ending #4 from the mod for ES1.
-Postgame time. Magaleta was demoted for putting herself and her sister in danger by ignoring the orders of the Sanctum to not go into the Tower of Eternity. Nobody should make a wish and she is fortunate that both of them made it out ok. Little Fairy and Hugo and the others made it back to their respective homes.
-Hugo works alongside Medea (the witch) to acquire an artifact to resurrect an ancient evil demon. By resurrecting him they hope to be able to purify him so that he is cleansed of corruption's evil influence. If they can pull that off, then every warlock ever will be freed from their curse and able to live a normal life. Senia turns traitor against the Sanctum (and her sister) to help Hugo and Medea. The (incomplete) story ends here.
Ok so there's a bit more minor details but those are the highlights. Story is pretty awesome but you need to hit close to level 75 to survive the later fights near the end. It is a massive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind. Absolutely massive. I despise the author of the mobile game for forcing their fans to suffer through this disgustingly-grindy ♥♥♥♥. Like WHY was it so hard that they couldn't just make a visual novel and charge some money for it? :P
The original game in RPGMaker has actual gameplay and (more importantly) you can skip almost any battles that you don't want to deal with. No random battles at all. The only mandatory battles are story-based boss battles. On Easy Difficulty you can be at base stats throughout nearly the entire game and still win easily.
The biggest problem with the mobile game is that by design it twists the player's arm to force them to grind to a certain level just to beat the story. I was close to level 80ish and I still had trouble against the level 75ish final enemies. It was absurdly grindy.
Also there's no 'fun' or strategy involved at all in mindlessly clicking nonstop on an enemy to kill it. None of the special skills or abilities are really worth the grind. Ever since uninstalling it, I have felt nothing but relief; the same feeling as if I was quitting a job where I was mistreated as a worker.
Like I said in my in-depth impressions detailed above, the story would've been much better served as a visual novel. Instead it is a linear zero-choice visual novel interspersed with some of the most horrendous uninteresting boring mind-numbing worthless grind since the original Dragon Warrior 1 on NES.
Just play the Emperium Mod. It is not 'official' but it gives more satisfaction and joy than drudging through the horrid mobile gameplay.
I've always despised developers that should've just done a visual novel but instead make horrid games with horrid gameplay but decent/interesting worlds and character stories.
Senia and Magaletta have been reunited for a week before they're forced to be separated again due to the former joing two superfluous, albeit interesting, side characters with a doomed to fail plan. To quote Monty Python's the Meaning of Life " One minute it's all 'please' and 'thank you', and the next, they'll kick you in the teeth!" Seriously, this is up there with the ending of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica Rebellion" for how much of a f@%k you it is to the audience.
Maybe that's going a bit too far as nobody's out of character unlike Madoka Magica Rebellion, but if you just want closure to the first game's ending, don't even bother with it.
I really in need of those Dark Stones to upgrade my Dark Arsenal!
Easiest way is to beat Demon Lord in Domain of Trials (Lv 60, cost 3 BP) depends on how lucky you are, you can get the sword almost everytime, Realm Event will only give low star swords since they are capped at lv 25. You can also can get a 4 star sword by beating Demon Lord on Demon Frontier (Lv 51-55)
Hard way is, beating Nyx on Fairy Monarch (Best Dark Sword) or just colect platinum coins from platinum trials to buy a dark sword from Marketplace (cost 240 coins, and cost 120 for Sable Divine Stone, used to upgrade)
Also fairy is still best girl!
