Falling Glitch
Having an issue, not once but twice it's happened.

Enter a room, everything is black, walk towards it, fall for 30-45 seconds and die, reloads from last checkpoint and starts all over again. I even started a new game.

Any fixes for this? Thanks in advance.

When asking for tech advice, always list your PC specs including system (32-bit or 64-bit) and RAM; Windows OS (7, 8.1, 10); NVidia driver series; video card including VRAM; and paste any error or crash message in its entirety into a topic. Saves a lot of guesswork.

i7-9750H
RTX-2060
32gb Ram
Drivers 442.19
Windows 10 64 bit

Don't have any crash or error message, it just glitches and renders the game unplayable.

Did you try the advice in the link?

Any new solutions to this issue? I've tried the game on an AMD platform and on an intel/NVIDIA platform with no success on either. Both systems on Windows 10. And Steam won't refund because I went over 2 hours "playing" the game trying all the suggested fixes I could find. ♥♥♥♥ them. And the game is so old that WB isn't supporting either. Yet Steam still sells it. Losers.

AMD Ryzen 2700X
RX 6700 XT
16 GB ram

or Intel I7 11375H
RTX 3060m
16 GB ram

I just stopped playing the game. Doesn't seem hardware related, as I'm on a completely new build 2 years later and still have the issue when I tried to play it last. I tried compatibility mode all the way back to Windows 7, driver updates, uninstall/reinstall, installed to a different SSD in my system. I hope you can find a solution though.

Intel i9-9900K
64 GB RAM
RTX 3080ti
Windows 11

Disable DX11 before playing, and this shouldn't occur. Doesn't happen to everyone but is happening enough to get logged. Doesn't matter how new your computer is:
1. Locate DefaultEngine.ini: Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY \ BmGame \ Config \ DefaultEngine.ini
2. Open DefaultEngine.ini with NotePad
3. Locate "AllowD3D10=True" and change True to False
4. Save file and restart computer

Tried changing game config and disabling the dx10/11, found these settings to be in current use, cant seem to find any other info on it. Had to restart a save and had the issue happen earlier on in the game than previously. Id say Ill skip this one and move to the next game but apparently the issue is ongoing throughout the game series

If you disabled DX11 but still experience freefall, wait a few seconds at the door egress prompt when approaching interior doors leading to other rooms. Waiting a few seconds could allow the floor textures in the next room to load properly before entry. If you ever do replay the game, start making separate periodic manual backups:
Steam \ userdata \ Steam User Number \ 35140 \ remote
Slot 1: save0.sgd
Slot 2: save1.sgd
Slot 3: save2.sgd
Slot 4: save3.sgd

I got the same problem before. Started a new game and then played normally til I came to the Batcave where It says to get to the surface. When i then have to jump to the other platform i can't because it's acting like something is infront of me like a invisible wall even after clearing the creates. My percentage is also up to 3000% for some reason. I don't get it man XD.

I am experiencing the same issue in Arkham Mansion map - once the door opens it shows an entry room fading into darkness and if you walk too far, you just fall for eternity.
AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
32GB DDR5
AMD Radeon RX7600 8GB GDDR6

I have tried disabling DirectX, reinstalling the game, but nothing works.
