genshin tho, is older and has a lot more to offer and has a larger character roster. the npcs are all just copy paste with a very rare chance of unique designs. they stopped listening to players for the most part and has insane amounts of cultural appropriation and stereotyping.
its really just personal opinion atp. id rather wait to see what other future gacha games have to offer as theres some very promising ones in the works, or i'd play other kuro games like punishing grey raven or black beacon
TLDR:
Genshin is more kid oriented, WuWa is more adult specific. WuWa also doesnt have powercreep and 100% guaranteed weapon banners which allows you to have statsticks without any luck factor.
Genshin story is very childish while having richer lore which they never use. WuWa's overall lore may not be grandiose, (again i havent finished story but have seen stuff here and there) but it's execution is much better and due to the game being adult friendly, it's considerably darker than Genshin.
In Combat, WuWa sh1ts on gensheet from so up high that it feels like god himself took a dump. Its not even remotely comparable in any sense or angle at all.
As for exploration, WuWa feels much better due to stamina not being consumed, its exploration in the first region is already miles better than genshin. To make it even better than before, they added flying in the 2.0 for it's 2nd zone which is even more fun.
Rewards:
WuWa gives more pulls compared to Genshin, its not even close. Most events give more pulls and in the shop, you can literally buy 2 dupes of each owned character. This is probably the most player-friendly aspect of the game. The longer you play, the more you stack up and you can instantly redeem 2 dupes and S2 a character of your choice instantly. Definitely use it on a healer or a DPS.
Banner:
WuWa has a 100% guaranteed weapon banner with its own currency that can be found as event rewards. Here you can use those on a banner of your choice by stacking them to 80. Or you can use your main currency to get the weapon without any luck playing a factor. Its extremely reassuring and gives you a plan ahead of time.
Standard 5 star weapons also have their own banner with 100% guarantee. This means you never pull on a standard character banner because you will be losing 50/50 to them anyway in the limited banner. Instead, you can pull for weapons and have multiple copies or max them out to use them as stat sticks.
In genshin, standard weapons and characters share the banner so even to this day, many players dont have good standard 5star weapons after 3-4 years.
In WuWa, you have 3 chances to get Verina, a must-have healer for good builds. Shes S tier in all content and you can have her for free. You have
Novice Convene: 50 pulls to secure/guarantee a 5-star which includes Verina. In this convene, you use 8 pulls to do 10 rolls and it vanishes when you get a 5star.
Beginner's Choice Convene: 80 pulls to secure a player-selected 5-star. You choose Verina here. And pray that you get her early. Vanishes after you get her.
Giveback Convene: A special Voucher which allows you to pull a 5-star instantly. You pick Verina here as well.
So you'll have S1 Verina by default and S2 Verina if you're lucky with novice banner. S2 Verina is the best unit in the game with the fastest rotation.
I see no point in playing Genshin when WuWa exists.
I recommend some upcoming open world game, so you will not start late & feel dull moment.
1. Project Mugen (Ananta) - First project that announce before anyone, have decent trailer.
2. Azur Promilia - Made by Azur Lane dev. There are a lot of Azur Lane FC, so their fan (Including me) will check this out.
3. Neverness to Everness - Made by ToF dev This one in CN community, after see this game trailer, call this game "OMG GTA 7" Well, I used to play ToF up to patch 2.4, at least I can guarantee their quality.
4. Duet Night Abyss - Decent looking & combat game I guess.
5. Star Resonance - Blue Protocol that not have a chance to go global, got reincarnate into this game lol.
the world in genshin is more colorful, vibrant, stories can go from light and funny to pretty dark.
im level 54 on Wws.
wuthering waves colours are quite cold and dark, stories are mostly depressing, everything is broken or in the way to.
i prefer genshin.
also, and this is a nitpick that annoys me a lot, the combat camera in Wws is wild, sometimes it works sometimes locks on an enemy you cant even see, i dont know if they fixed this by now.
Oh just a mindless sheep unable to try both an form an opinion. or just look up a couple gameplay videos
