I appreciate your effort, but I assure you this is related to my non-official Xbox 360 controller not being supported by the game. If I move the stick half way to the bottom-left from center it works. If I move it all the way to the bottom-left as far as it goes, it stops working. Every centering and calibrating trick in the book won't fix a buggy program. Mind you this controller works with every other game perfectly. It's hard to believe it's not a calibration issue, I understand, but trust me, I'm a software developer who would spend all day trying a way to fix this if it were possible. The simple answer is use the official controller or else it won't work. For that, Square Enix/Eidos gets thumbs down from me. It's a PC game and they should support a basic controller like 99% of all PC games do.
First: I tried everything of the above. x360ce etc. and nothing worked. I have a xbox360 wireless controller that works but wanted a gamepad for a second player.
Then I remembered a little program called xpadder (just google it). It allows you to map keyboard and mouse commands to a gamepad. First, unbind everything in the game to avoid conflicts. Then create a keyboard (!) layout from scratch in game. Make a screenshot or take a picture of the layout with your phone or whatever and exit the game. start xpadder and create a "new controller" (top left of the xpadder screen). use your gamepad to map all gamepad functions to the "new controller layout". It is more or less self explanatory. Then create a new "profile" (top right of the xpadder screen). Here you click on the virtual buttons of your "new controller" and then press the key on the keyboard that you used in the game for an action. The right analog stick is used for aiming. So you map it to mouse up, down etc. (you can't miss it). Save the new controller and the profile and keep xpadder open in the background. Start the game and it should work.
You are basically playing with a keyboard but except for not having the advantages of analog movement on the left stick, you won't feel a difference.
Keep in mind that only player 1 can use the keyboard. So you have to disable gamepad input for player 1 so that it automatically switches to keyboard use. If you have a working original xbox360 controller, you can set it up for player 2.
It really sounds more complicated than it is. But in any case, the non-reaction from the developer is inexcusable. :(
Oh, and I forgot, player 1 also seems unable to aim and shoot up-left while walking down-right, while player 2 doesn't seem to have this problem.
I have the exact same problem. It stops working in the down/left posistion.
So my solution to this issue is to use the xbox one controller on your PC wired or wireless.
Also the ps3 version may has it's own issue too, since I only download the demo version and it had my download a little patch on it, after that it works fine!
I tried to get my right thumbstick on the Xbox One Elite controller to work in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light but did not found much easy results.
This is what i did to get it work:
Download Pinnacle Game Profiler http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/
In the program you can download a controller profile for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Follow also the guidelines during installation. Pinnacle Game Profiler is free to use for 21 days.
It works on Windows 10 (64 bit) but not 100 percent. Controls are not good mapped.
What 100% worked for me was:
I did this: https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/297913/right-stick-doesnt-work-in-any-steam-games
I have an Xbox One Elite controller and had to change to Xbox Gaming Device instead of Xbox One Elite controller in Device Manager. It did not work properly, so i restarted pc, and now no troubles with any game and right stick is working.
Any new solutions?
I had to go into the controller settings on GoL's Steam page and turn on Steam Input. That made the sticks work correctly. You then have to go into the game and manually map the controls. Then, everything should work like it's supposed to.
