Not Launching on Windows 10
Anyone has the game runnning on Windows 10 this and Nidhogg won't launch. My Icon turns green for a second (saying I'm in game) then it turns back to blue and nothing happens.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I was able to play a few days ago. I don't know what is happening now. Is it a Windows 10 problem?? if it is, why I was able to play before but not now??

Game is Broken. Doesn't boot with Win10 + Ryzen 5950X + RTX 3090. It looks like the game thinks the exe is broken and downloads it again (after a validation).

I have exactly the same problem now. also have Win10 + Ryzen 5950X + RTX 3090. Always 1 file is invalid while checking files. Tried everything proposed earlier, but nothing helped.

My friend had this problem. It was caused by special character "í" in installation path. We changed game location to D:/Steam/steamapps/common and it works just fine.

I tried most of the above and it didn't work. But Kwoky's comment led me to trying to move the install folder to another drive, and it fixed it. Perfect now on Windows 11.

For me, this game is one of several of the middling older era, starting in mid-2000's, that do not play well with more than 8 cores. Quite a few of my Ubisoft games are like that. This game would not run for me until I used Process Lasso to limit core affinity to the first 8 cores. You can use msconfig to limit the cores, but you have to do a reboot for that, and of course you basically aren't using all your processor while that's in effect.

There's another way.

The Witcher 2 has the same problem with my 5950X. This is going to sound weird but forcing the STEAM APP(or GOG GALAXY launcer) to use CPUs 0 to 7 under Task Manager>Details>steam.exe . Right click on STEAM.EXE and click on Set Affinity. Uncheck CPUs 8 to 32.

The irony here is that, the first Witcher runs with no issues on my 5950X.

EDIT: So I just purchased LCGOL on STEAM and true enough, it doesn't launch if I don't adjust the affinity settings.

I can verify that the above actually works!

Currently on Windows 11 Home. I did the Steam File Integrity check and was able to get the game working.

Tried that yesterday & it fixed everything (Ryzen 9 5950X) , worked fine in 4k on a 144hz monitor with vsync off, in fact, it worked with all the other games I've had this exact issue with (Capcom Arcade Stadium, Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, Injustice, NBA 2k21, Brawhalla....). But today somehow the same problems appeared, regardless how many cores I choose. I've never had any problems with Ryzen 1800x & 2700x.

I just encountered this problem for TRU, and this link (https://steamcommunity.com/app/8140/discussions/0/2791621786941084149/) fixed it.

I'd had similar problems with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and so I tried that same fix and that allowed the game to Launch properly!

I also tried Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris as well and it crashed when set to all cores, but when set to 30 or fewer it seemed to run fine.

So I would say that this is the fix for Tomb Raider Underworld, Guardian of Light, and Temple of Osiris.

(Primarily posting so that if anyone is encountering an issue with the Lara Croft games not starting properly they can find and try this)

Does not work for me, nor any other options mentioned above. I have also contacted official support and after some back and forth they recommended me to reinstall the whole system, for a mere game, while other games run perfectly...
