Game wont start

Fresh system. other games work thru steam. this will not. no error. comes up with play or setup. done both repeatedly. click play, does nothing. no screen flicker. i have verified game files and even deleted and re installed gave via steam.

Me too, just got it and it won't start.

Says app's already running but it's not and hasn't been.

I've reinstalled it, verified game cache again and it still won't start. I also deleted the appcache folder before hand.

On Windows 8.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I finally got it to work. I had delete and re download the game again to basically get the setup screen to pop up. it was on default resolution of 1280x1024. once i changed it to 1920x1080 it played fine.

For me, it wouldn't open on a lower resolution.
This also worked on another steam game that would open either.

Move/delete the Steam\userdata\*********\35150\remote\autosave.lcgolsave file, start a new game. If you need your old saves copy back.

I've got the problem that Ive bought it and want to play it. But there is no button or anything for installing. so i cannot do anything! any help?

I've the same problem since I've installed Windows 10. The game or the Setup don't start :-(

Ok. It works good now, explication for me :

If I do a right-click on lcgol.exe and Excecute on administrator mode : It do not work.

but

If I do a right-click on lcgol.exe > Proprieties > Comptability > I check : "Excute the program as an administrator" > Apply : IT WORK !

Hi, i've got this problem on windows 10 too,
i tried the fix running it running it as the administrator and while it got further - it got up until the:
'Do you want this app to make changes - Yes/No?'
as soon as i press yes, it does nothing at all (just like others have mentioned above)

any further fixes?

~Ah solved,
Within steam itself i navigated to - (View : Games Deatails)
then right clicked on 'Lara Croft, Guardian of light' and clicked on "setupt guardian of light" or something similar with setup on the name..
finally it took me through to the actual configuration page where you choose the resolution, graphics deatails e.t.c.....
next time i boot it works as it should.

I think i may have backed out of the setup mid way through it ... some time agao. Wasn't aware you had to restart it manually.
I've left it running as 'administrator' which i think is also working well,.

I'm having the same problem except it won't even let me run the configuration utility to change any settings.

Here is my solution to solve this problem:

- Uninstall previous game.
- Install it again
- Open setup configuration
- Then play

If you first try to play it won't work, it took me 2 times to realize that, just unistall, setup and run.

Change resolution of your monitor to 1280x1024 and start up game as it described in post #7 by Avgas. Worked for me. (Win 10, default resolution 1920x1080).
Game works without described manipulations on the next session.

I've had the exact same issue, game didn't start, even the setup menu didn't show up. Steam was showing that game is running for a few seconds then it stopped.
I fixed this by installing the game on the C drive as previously it was installed on a different drive. Hope this helps someone.
