Im not good at that type of stuff. It's why I loved the previous games, because I rarely had to do anything like that.
The worst part is that they took too long. It would have been fun for a short while, but it took like 3 times as long as it should have (the chimney bit made me and my girlfriend laugh, like wtf?!).
In any case, making them skippable seems like a must have. If the devs still want more action in their games, then they should take a few notes from L.A. Noir.
And that's an extremely rear example of game packed with action sequences perfectly adjusted even to people who tend to ignore action games and usually hate such elements. "Easy" difficulty level is really easy (even such a clumsy person as me didn't experience problems most of the time), you can always skip shooting/chasing if you want (as you've mentioned), and these elements don't feel out of place, they are combined with adventure gameplay in a perfect proportion. But, once again, that's an exception. Anyway, a Sherlock Holmes game should be slow-paced, it should be about investigation and deduction, about the brilliant mind catching criminals, not about running and fighting. I'll probably buy the game if the developers introduce an opportunity to skip any non-adventure sequence, buy for now I'll pass.
i swore i saw a video review saying they were skippable...if theyre not finishing this gmae is going t obe a slog. thats not cool.
The only gameplay change I would have made would have been to let you choose how you want to process certain evidence so that you can actually reach "wrong" conclusions but that's it.
I failed the swamp part like 10 times because there was no real indication as to where to go, and walking on the invisible paths was very hard because of the impercise controls.
Hah, now that gave me a laugh. Yeah, the new Watson does look a bit odd to say the least. I did prefer the previous look of him, but hey, maybe he finally found himself in this cruel new world ahah
