It seems improbable but that's the only thing I can come up with.
that's what I thought too but why bother showing you a robot armor that CAN do exactly that?
The only sense it makes is : Robot armor spears the guy and the witness lies
To be honest, everything about this case was super super far fetched.
I cant imagine the pygmy throwing the spear since, as the clues also say it, you'd need some amount of strength to throw the spear with such force at this distance. He didnt exactly look very buff.
The only other possible person to throw the spear would have been Albeit since no one else was involved in the plot. But thats also quite the feat for a sick cripple.
The entire case is riddled with inconsitencies. For example, remember the scene when you chop down the door to Albeit's house and Holmes gets attacked with arrows? As Watson covers Holmes you can see a figure taking cover. To tall to be the pygmy. So it must have been Albeit. But how is he supposed to shoot arrows with one arm? If the Pygmy was shooting the arrows, why is he not there at this moment? He didnt escape, since Holmes is being shot at again afterwards.
And so on. Marley's entire purpose is to confuse you and throw you off. Why build an automatron in the first place?
I think just to add Marley as a possible suspect. Its too convenient
Building a statue, that can throw a spear is one thing, although in terms of believability the ice is getting thin there already. But building a automatron which can throw a spear, run away, and scale a brick wall and disappear in the streets. Ooff.
What i mean is, you can spin it in every direction, there are always inconsistencies because its a rather poorly written plot in an otherwise great game.
Yeah you bet the case has been bugging me, it's been the low point of that entire game (especially you, silly Mayan puzzles)
It just makes no sense based on the "right" deduction. The case is full of red herrings and make no sense. Why even have a pygmy involved if you got a robot statue?
Anyway, I'll take your explanation since it's the best I think I'll get, thanks for the reply.
They needed to cut the statue from the base silently and replace with the pygmy. The victim couldn't differenciate the pygmy and the statue because it was dark. The leaves were spread so that you would think it's a device that has been activated. Why doing this way? Albeit was spying on his "old friends". You can say that because he got the pyramid and knew about the automation. The mayan pyramid wasn't made by him. First, how could he know if he was left behind and considered dead? He couln't have known it unless he saw the mayan city model. But if he saw it, the others would know that he is alive. Why the fake name? He was spying.
It was the other way around. Knowing about the automation, Albeit planned to blame his collegue because he had an automation that can throw the spear. Also, it isn't far fetched that Albeit has the club's key. Also, he has the perfect alibi: he is dead, legally. This man had time to plan his revenge. Where are the statues, you may ask? He probably got rid of them. Just in case.
It couldn't be the club owner because he had no reason to do it, since money isn't valid, he has a lot of items to sell. It couldn't be the automation guy. Seems like there is no solid evidence about an automation capable of running, and you can't possibly lift that thing and run so fast after throwing it, unless it was a live statue, it can't run without someone lifting it. And the final point. The victim was there, and the owner knew it, but is he the only one? I'm not convinced about the mayan calendar translation. Isn't it too good that he was at the right place and time to get a spear in the chest? It was planned in advance. I wouldn't be surprised if Albeit made our victim drunk and sent him right to the trap. This man, Albeit, is a genius. That's why I put him in jail, or else he would have killed the other two the same way.
Then why do we find traces of the statue scraping down the path leading out?
MOTIVE:
-Albeit wants revenge on the club but more proticularly on Zacharias because he is the one that grabbed the treasure which lead to Albeit getting trapped in The pyramid.
THE MURDER WEAPON:
-Albeit and the pigmy work togather to stroke Marley's fear of the curse. Till he believes that he is the chosen one and must help or be cursed. They bring him one of the statues from Albeits collection and have him build a mechanical replica of the statue that the pigmy can operate and get it placed in the courtyard. But there is still one problem....the pigmy can't see while in the statue.
THE MURDER / EVENTS:
-Albeit puts out leaves on the ground so the pigmy can HEAR when Zacharias walks into the right spot to fire. After shooting Zacharias with the spear the pigmy drags the statue to, and then over the wall. Leaving behind metal scraps on the path and braking the branch because of the added weight of the statue.
-Sir Charles comes out and sees the statue missing and a spear in Zacharias and lies about seeing the statue running. He lies partly because it seems obvious since the statue is gone and partly because he knows a better story could help his political career/club.
-The pigmy takes the statue back to Marley's shop and hides in the office when sherlock comes asking question, and leaves the statue there. Later its found by sherlock and Watson.
-When sherlock and Watson find Albeit at the hospital he panics and rushes back to his apartment and starts trying to throw them off by acting like he's been attacked. He knows that he won't be suspected of throwing the spear because he doesn't have a right arm but the pigmy would be. And since we see that a statue is missing it adds to the idea that a curse is attacking them.
CONCLUSION:
-The case gives all these details but doesn't connect them directly. I would of preferred it if they did but all in all I think it makes sense. :)
Please let me know if I missed anything!
