You play a character that fights in historically-inspired battles, the similarities end there. Core gameplay mechanics are comepletely different. Just because Koei made both of them? That's like saying AC:Unity and Far Cry 4 are the same kind of game. You even said it yourself, saying is a Dynasty Warriors-style game, but the going on to praise the non one-man-army aspect of it.
Which kind of game are you really looking for?!

No, not really. You actually missed the point completely.
AC and FC are different games, different titles, both made by Ubisoft. They are similar in that both are open world explorey types that make you climb tall things to reveal the map, but most similarities, save the most basic, end there.
Brotherhood and Unity are both AC games, same gameplay, same mechanics, just different features. If this post was comparing Dynasty Warrior and Hyrule Warriors, then you would be right, but it's not, so you're not.
You missed the point actually. AC and FC are made by two differnt development studios under the same publisher.
However Bladestorm and Dynasty Warriors were both made by the same development studio and publisher.
Regardless, the point here is that Bladestorm and Dynasty Warriors is an apple to oranges comparison even if they were both grown in California, while Unity and Brotherhood would be more like granny smith vs red delicious. Yeah, they're different, but they're still both apples.
Kingdom Under Fire 2 is comming out soon as well.
Last I heard was a potential Western release (or beta, can't remember which) some time this fall. Don't know if that'll actually happen, mind, but there is a functioning Asian version in existence - so there is hope.
im in the beta of kingdom under fire 2... but it is more of a mmo (free to play)...there is a class system ect more like a mix of a rpg and rts but not in any way action like dynasty warriors...bladestorm would be the closest...even it is not the same kind of strategy gameplay
it would be like comparing call of dufy with farcry 3-4 even if both are shooter it a complete different experience
:)
