Good, so it should be able to be played at 60 fps then.

So, rephrased, what you really wanted to know: will this game's framerate be capped at a horrible 30fps? ^_~

Related, how will controller support be implemented? I have noticed many unity games claiming full controller support, but having the button mapping mixed up and no way to remap the buttons.

is this indeed unity 3D or unity 2D?

The art style is nice but visually it shouldn't be taxing at all, even built on Unity. I'd expect 60fps rock solid with a moderate PC.

Captain Obvious over here. Unless the game was designed with 30fps cap, then yes, it would be 60fps.

We're using Unity 3D to build the game, and using the 2D capabilities of Unity. We're also aiming for 60 fps, as it is a 2D game this shouldn't be too diffcult but do keep in mind others things that could bring down your FPS such as Lighting, Particles, Number of enemies on the screen etc.

Hope that answers all your questions :)
