It's worth noting for those of you that will win a Boreas Horn sword that when you evolve him, his evolve % bonus numbers may look a little stranger than other cards.

There are 3 categories of Winners:
1st Place - A 15 character (or less) name we'll use in game.
2nd Place - A 15 character (or less) name runner-up (not used in game).
3rd Place - Honourable Mention for a name of any length or format which brings a face-palm or chuckle.

ALL Winners can select 8 of any Card from the game (including Equipment) except for the following cards....

If you choose Demon Cards, they will be given as un-evolved Lv1's. If you choose Equipment, it will be given as a fully formed Lv1 piece of equipment.

Dear Players

The new tournament is now up and running.
This week is a RAID BOSS tournament so this is why you cannot see the Event Island in the map any more :)

It's also worth mentioning that during Raid Boss tournament weeks, the Advantage Equipment is also effective against the World Boss too, doing at 20x damage multiplier for the demon holding the item.

So combined with the fact we've weakened the World Boos even more than usual, it must certainly be killable now.

Dear Players

We have now patched and gone live with the new version of The Gate.

2 noticeable changes now are that we have the tournaments running.
The first one is an "Event Island" where you can win Crystals, Materials and maybe even the Jahi Slag Heart Disciple.

Secondly, we have altered the HP and toughness of the World Boss.
He should now be much more killable during the time he appears.

The Gate has arrived on Steam!

After many months of preparation and waiting, we are proud to announce the launch of The Gate on Steam. This new launch brings with it a fresh, new server and a stand-alone PC game client.

Here are some questions and answers related to this launch. If you have additional questions, feel free to post them below.

Why a new server?
We secured a deal with DeNA (our existing mobile publisher) to allow the launch of a PC-client version on Steam, on the condition that the PC-client version NOT be attached to the same server as the mobile/web version. As a result, we are launching the PC-client version on Steam with a fresh, new server.

Why can't you transfer my existing account to the new server?
Part of our agreement with DeNA says we are NOT allowed to transfer existing accounts away from the old server. If we do, we are liable to legal action. Please, do not ask us to do this. We cannot, and we have no control over this.

Why are things cheaper on the new server?
Money you spend on the Steam version is split only between Spicy Horse and Valve (30% Valve, 70% Spicy), therefore we make a larger % of every dollar spent on that platform, and we are able to pass along that saving to players on Steam. With the mobile version, the majority of the $ you spend DOES NOT go to Spicy Horse, it goes to Apple/Google, and DeNA. We cannot make prices lower there. If we did, then we could not afford to run and support the game on those platforms.

Why no Mac, Linux, Toaster-Compy 2000, etc versions?
We are a small studio and do not currently have the resources to launch Mac, Linux, or other versions of The Gate on Steam. If the game does well and there is enough interest to justify additional versions in the future we will consider the idea. Please, do not write to us complaining about this. Again, we are a small team, our hands are tied here.

Why are there no Steam Achievements?
Again, we are small studio and do not have resources to add these in at launch. If the response to the game is big enough, then we will have reason to add them in later.
