No music outside of cutscenes?

Title says it all. I have no sound in the main menu or in the game, apart from in cutscenes. I can hear the music, voice and everything, but outside of cutscenes I can't hear ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Any ideas?

It's a known problem. Look at the forums. There is a link with the Open AL install program. It's an older soundprogram from creative labs. You need to install this to have all the soundeffects.

Thanks, but doesn't that sound a bit weird? That to get content that should be in the game through something else?

Possibly this can be related to Windows 7 (and 8). I believe Microsoft changed something in the newer versions of Windows wich changed the way soundcards worked. Mini Ninjas was for Windows XP and Vista. I believe there is no official support for Win 7. Using OpenAL is the solution. It is also suggested on the games official forums: http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/forumdisplay.php?f=346

Yeah, this works...Just download the 'OpenAL Installer' (NOT the sdk) and you will be set :)
