UPDATE: Following this fixed the issue for me. Just go to guides and go to the last one it has all the fixes for audio as well.
"Step 2 - Lag, Micro-Stutter, etc (Engine Fix)
For this fix we are just adding a new game engine that directly translates DirectX 9 into its own engine and increase performance. (I think that's what vulkan does, If not please explain in the description as I would like to know the specifics.)
Go to Doitsujin's Github for Dxvk (Vulkan), Look for Releases on the right of the page and install the .tar.gz file. (Your going to need 7-zip or Winrar for this.) (.tar.gz is Linux extension but we can still use the files on windows.)
Dxvk Link: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk
7-zip (If not installed): https://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Once installed, Open your Mini Ninjas Main folder (The one with ninja.exe), Right-click>Browse Local Files.
Then Open the dxvk folder, open x32 (as Mini Ninjas is a 32-bit game) and copy the d3d9.dll into mini ninjas main folder (Again, The folder with ninjas.exe inside)
Once that's done, The game is now running Vulkan and it will be fixed."
It works fine here now with the stutter fix, even at 2560x1600 which is great for such an old game. Xbox one controller works via usb wireless adapter and I have it locked at 120 FPS via riva tuner. All good.
I really hope you guys get it sorted but my first question
Are you 100% up to date with windows updates?
Are you using amd or nvidia or something else? (nvidia here)
And how many cores does your cpu have? Mine is an older 11th gen 8 core.
PS no external apps uses here other than the stutter fix app which is a tiny exe. All I did was put it in my MN folder and ran it once and it seemed to auto patch it.
I am not using any direct x or vulkan tools.
p.s. Also tried downloading various .dll's, fixes for directx, running with support for older operating systems, but all to no avail.
so quoting myself.... i put --windowed on launch parameters and it worked just fine
