Stellar Blade™

Stellar Blade™

Will it be uncensored?
I haven't followed the game much since it launched; did it ever get uncensored?

Reference for the last bit of info I'd read on it around launch - https://deidetected.com/games/stellar-blade/

Edits yes but not censored. It doesmt make sense that its censored since they released even skimpier variants of those altered ones. I dont say its censored
Information about censorship do not come from data mining. But it come from official materials:
1). Uncensored version was used for game trailers, so marketing materials. For example this one (1:30) https://youtu.be/LvP_1y_V0es?t=90
2). PS5 disc version is still uncensored. All you need to do is play offline and do not allow game for patch.

So talking about the outfits are as originally intended in day 1 patch is obvious a lie. Its damage control. Perhaps enforced by sony.
At this point I suggest you hear what Goichi Suda CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture and director of Lollipop Chainsaw and Kenichiro Takaki producer of Senran Kagura have to say about cooperation with sony.

This censorship doesn't make sense because game have more skimpy costumes than this censored. But stupidity and pointless of this action doesn't change fact there was censorship.
And nothing compensate censored blood.

the two suits that were 'censored' have already received a different color version using the old model 'uncensored' a few weeks after release, there is no censorship

Not 2, but at least 6.

Different versions are not just recolors. Overall still cover more skin than uncensored versions.

They never reverted the original uncensored costumes but have since added many more outfits. some of which are just as risqué and revealing as the original controversial ones, if not more so. In fact 2 of the added ones are essentially the original controversial ones but with different coloring. Bottom line, if your are interested in this game but not buying it because of this so called controversy, that no longer really exists, it's your loss.

No, Shift UP said those changes were always what they intended the outfits to look like when they were updated in the Beta/Demo of the game, Then, One handed gamers cried about it and Shift UP caved and added back the 'Originals' as outfit variants

Originally posted by Hyung-Tae Kim, Talking about the Midsummer Redhood and Midsummer Alice Outfits:
"We are aware of the issue The version we ended up showing was a day-one patch version It's not an answer that will satisfy users anyway Internal discussions are ongoing"

“Understandably, we also recognize this issue. However, the final costume that we wanted to show you is indeed the costume in version 1.0.0.2. I want to clarify that is our final product. However, I know this answer is not enough to convince our users. There is an internal discussion ongoing regarding this, so I think we’ll have a chance to answer it soon,” the developer stated.

Then with patch 1.0.0.3 Stellar Blade Update 1.003 Adds New Boss Challenge, New Outfits, and More

The update also quietly adds two new outfits that have been the subject of controversy over the past few weeks - Midsummer Redhood and Midsummer Alice. These are, effectively, the more revealing versions of the Bunny and Cybernetic Bondage

The Game was never censored
What do you have against amputees? You seem to really hate them.

Reading is what I do all the time, it's my every day thing. But thanks for having me read what you wanted to say. So it was after all a demo version to finally get to the final release version.
Everything I just said was in the original comment you quoted

Yes, all the tantrums were thrown over a Demo Version of the game and not the final product. Shift UP stated that the Updated Outfit in the Demo that people cried about was always the intended version and to appease them for Version 1.0.0.3 of the Full Game they added the "Uncensored" outfits back as variants
Censorship is an apt description of what happened, corporate speak does not translate to honesty, especially when gore was censored also. Why do you say so much when all of it is thoughtless drivel? Why bother talking if all you can be is a confidently wrong contrarian?

Oh my god jesus christ! How am I supposed to wank with that kind of woke DEI cencorship? Boycott the game!

Okay but what about blood? Why is nobody talking about that? The final release is so mild.
The blood thing is the only legitimate gripe of 'censorship' and I agree it should be added back, no way you are hacking and slashing through hordes of enemies and remaining squeaky clean
Backtracker, defend the censorship of the blood, coward. You are either in favour of the censorship, including the "intentional" change to gore and blood, or you are against it, shift up intended both these acts of censorship in equal measure, so it's not censorship, just like the outfits aren't censored in your eyes.

You have the consistency of wet clay, I hope you know that, please dry out and take a firm stand for or against censorship, you can't play both sides with this because both censorship types lead into each other, they cause the other to happen inevitably.

Even if it is just the current PS5 build ported over with the censored outfits you know Nexus mods will have the OG outfits (and even more lewd stuff) within a week of release.

Mods will absolutely restore this game to its originally intended beauty. A real shame about the ugly texture jobs that are cover skin without any geometry. Also looking forward to adding back the lost blood.

It doesn'r relly matter, does it?

Mods will fix all your problems. Probably give you a fix too.

The whole 'censoring' was probably on the insistence of Sony, to make it more customer friendly. If we take a look over to their Gacha game, Nikke: Goddess of Victory, there isn't much censoring happening.

So I don't think it'll be censored. And even if it will be enforced by Valve, there will most likely be an official patch will restore content, like with many other more adult themed games.
So did they add all this back? :steamsad::steamsalty:

I have the original PS5 disc version and can confirm it was absolutely, 100% censored. Not only is it well documented, I verified myself by playing offline, patching and down-patching. Posters insisting it wasn't are ignorant, lying or outright gaslighting. If you're going to mislead people for your agenda, at least try to do it with something that can't be looked up so easily.

Now, it is true that mods can fix it, and it's also true more risque costumes were added later. But contrary to the implications of the pro-censorship crowd, for many of us it's not really about having the most risque costumes possible, but the principle that censorship should never suppress the creators' vision and artistic design. For me personally, I despise censorship in any form. That's the intellectual side. But what may grate on me even more viscerally is how badly it was done - several costumes look like they just pasted random stuff over the areas Sony probably told them to censor. There is no way anything that ugly or out of place was "the original vision." Overall Stellar Blade is still a breath of fresh air and I want to support them, but several of the costumes were just ruined by how stupid they look now.

I fell on the side of thinking that the game is a breath of fresh air in an age of censorship, despite the minor changes, and will support with my money. But I really wish they would be the ones to fix it and honor what they claimed about ZERO censorship... not the modders. No idea and I don't believe there's been any word on whether they'll make it right in the PC version, but my fingers are crossed. Would love to buy here as well!

I doubt Shift UP will be the ones to fix the censorship. Also, it's more than likely going to be pretty hard to mod in the cut / censored outfits; because I doubt they're going to leave in that stuff on the release PC version.

One can only hope they "forget" that they left that stuff in. Although, someone could also just take the files from a jailbreaked PS5 with un-patched SB installed on it.
