Siberian Strike DLC - ERRORS thread
I got new DCL today in the morning and was happy about playing S:GW2 in the evening.

Unfortunately: I can not!

I start the Siberian Strike campain, the mission briefing screen shows,
in the upper-right corner appears the saving game icon and HD starts working heavily.
Then, after a few seconds of freezed screen all I get is this "CryEngine Error" window:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18389410/SGW2_CryEngine_Error.jpg

This is all strange, because the original single player campain still works.
There is no problem with mulitplayer as well.

Anybody with same problems?

Follow this thread and make sure to post your entry at:

***** SOLUTION SUMMARY*****

After the latest patch form CI, relesed 11-04-2013 the memory allocation problem should be fixed:

"- Fixed the Memory allocation Crash at the beginning of Siberian Strike DLC which was occurring on lower end machines"

There is one more thing, not described in the patch summary, but mentioned in this discussion by "CI_tech":

If you have a 32-bit system which recognizes only about 3GB of memory, or your PC has less than 4GB of RAM than you must go to the advanced graphics settings and set texture details to minimum. This should make DLC working.

As my tests showed (Intel Core 2 Quad, Vista 32-bit, 4GB RAM, GeForce GTX 460) you may set all the other graphics settings at maximum. Only texture details should be modified to get rid off this bug.

Finally: If you made and error report and were asked by CI to run game in debug mode, then you have to turn this mode off. Otherwise you will not get the patch! In my case debug mode made also the multiplayer games not working (black screen after loading the map).

Does anyone know how to fix the dissappearing HUD that happens after just a few minutes of playing the DLC?
Has anyone of you checked the logs in Windows? The logs can give additional information about the errors. If you don't know how to find them and you're running Windows 7, here's how to do that:
- go to START and type: event viewer (in the search box)
- click (or double click) on Event Viewer in the menu
- a new window will open with 3 columns; go to the left column and open Custom Views
- click on Administrative Events
- in the upper window of the column in the middle you'll see the errors and warnings
- in the lower window of the column in the middle you can see a description of the error
- just click on the error and you'll have a description of the error

The same can be done with Windows Logs and Applications and Services Logs in the same left column.

Those logs can help you find a solution to your problem. The logs are important to determine the cause of the problem. So, in order to be able to solve a problem, you always need to have the detailed specs of the computer and the logs.
Thanks for this info, Rico.

me too
@Rico686: Logs are not helpfull. We know that this is a kind of memory allocation error from CryEngine and logs just say that it is caused by "SniperGhostWarrior2.exe"...
@Sgt.Zavatzky: the following link may not solve the problem, but maybe it can help searching for a solution.

Same problem. Running 32bit.
Log says: "Unable to read the performance counter strings defined for the 006 language ID. The first DWORD in the Data section contains the Win32 error code."

Spec.: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU - E8400 @ 4.00GHz (3.25 usable)
How fast is your internet connection guys?

My connection is 60 Mbit down and 6 Mbit up.
The specs of my system are: Intel Core i5 - 3570K @ 3.4GHz - 16 Gb DDR3 RAM - OCZ Vertex 3 SSD hard drive - HD 6870 OC graphics card - 1000 Watt PSU.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with Norton Internet Security.

Sometimes problems can be caused by a bad or low internet connection. Most modern games use alot of memory and bandwidth. So if the data/memory flow isn't fast or good enough it can cause problems.
I'm not saying that this is causing your problems, but for most new (modern) games it's always good to check everything, not only your system.
Sometimes a 32-bit or 64-bit OS can make a difference, because a 64-bit OS can handle/support more memory and can also help the 64-bit architecture of the processor.

Another source of some problems can be the Anti-virus or Firewall program you are using. Not always, but sometimes it can block a certain data flow. It can happen that they recognize something as "unwanted". This can result in the loss of certain files.

Hope this can help you guys a little bit.
When are you going to get smart and not invest anymore $ with these guys. This game has been F''d up since the very start.
@SKYDEATH: If you are talking about FPS consider COD-MW, BO, BF, MOH. EA and Activision killed the potential of these titles with their greed for income. They serve us DLCs and "new" versions every year while the quality of gameplay is worse and worse day by day. And what? They sell more and more! So if we are stupid with spending money, then well, there is a LOT of us... :) Is CI worse than EA or Activision? I do not think so. They have a good game, they changed a lot of things since first part, but they managed to leave the heart of Ghost Warrior's sniping experience intact. So I would rather bet on CI now...
This is what I have for one of my PC's of 5. The one I play most of the Steam games, anyway. I have others with more games on them.

FX6860-UR20P, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, Intel® Core™ i7, ATI Radeon™ HD 6750, 8GB DDR3 (expandible to 16GB), 1.5TB of storage, DirectX® 11, Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology and Intel Hyper-Threading, 5.1-Channel Surround Sound,
@Predator: So it is not a 32bit system! Hm... ...interesting! :D
Nope, it's not. It should play every game on the market today without any problems at all.
