Kind of hard to say, since a lot of characters have more difficult combos that lead to higher damage, but for a lot of them you can play without them and still do fine. If I had to name a few I considered more lenient, it'd probably be characters like Ky, Sol, and May. Jam isn't too bad either. Anji might also be a decent contender, I hardly play him though and can't really say how easy they are to perform.

Edit: I forgot about Kliff. I've never even selected him in my life, but from what I've heard, I think he's not too difficult either.

faust is S tier in +R as well, so that can't hurt. This game is just execution heavy in general due to frc. Characters I highly recommend staying away from: I-No (highest execution of any character across all fighting games, I'd put money on it), Eddy(puppet character) , Chipp (jump installs galore >.<). Characters that aren't horrible: Sol, Ky, Faust, Robo-Ky (easiest frc points in the game, might give him a shot but you need to be able to just guard to really play him since he doesn't gain meter like normal characters).

Check out this channel and watch the videos for a basic idea of each character you're interested in. The videos are short, but there's a LOT of information delivered in there so pay close attention.

That list is by NerdJosh, solid american tournament player. Inclined to believe it, although I disagree with dizzy being easy to play. Her combos aren't super difficult, but her overall gameplay is difficult since she's squishy and relies on zoning combined with double instant airdash.

Dizzy can be played with two buttons if you really want to.
Slayer is also pretty basic, in that his inputs are simple and to the point, but his movement takes awhile to get used to.
