why no 16:9?
The Wii, PSP, and PS3 versions of AC have it, why not the latest version of the game?

Wii has black borders, PS3 has panels and PSP version is outright zoomed in and cropped.
Neither of those are true 16:9.

Wii version has a fill in option tho, it shouldn't be too hard to code in extra drawing to the sides while keeping the middle as limitations like MvC2

There is no true 16:9 for these games on any platform. The game would look terrible if you were to stretch it out to that aspect ratio.

It would look great, and why would you stretch it out.

Because the game isn't rendered with 3D models, it's rendered with sprites.

The best you can do is a screen-fill & this botches the corner, no longer extending it to the edge of the screen unless you want to do a closer 16:9 crop such as in the Wii version which just doesn't look good.

Guilty Gear already showed that bezel art is the solution to 16:9 monitors that they want to go with, they've gone with it in the arcade & they've gone with it in the home versions, and for what it's worth their bezel art options look great. They've even included the more recent arcade revision bezel art that isn't available on ps3.

as pointed out in another thread, that is a different game. notice the "R" here. besides, that video demonstrates very immediate stretching in the game frame itself and cropping from the poster's camera.

you don't easily "code it in". it's not just off screen drawning slapped with a boundary box. you are free to check out the registry and find the values for ggacp-r-, though, if you think it's easy.

I never said it was easy, I said it wouldn't be too hard.
