Difference between this and Guilty Gear X2 #Reload?
What is the difference between the 2 games? So, what, this is XX and the other one is 2X? This doesn't make any sense at all.

What is this game?

This doesn't really answer my question at all...

This version has more characters than X2 Reload.

More characters and very good balance.

EVERYTHING. There were a lot of updates after Reload, this one being the most recent and balanced iteration.

Since you have Ultra Street Fighter IV, you know about Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighet IV? So, it's almost the same. AC+R is the latest and best update for Guilty Gear XX. So, AC+R is most polished XX update with new characters, different balance and some new content which is also different from #Reload (that's why almost the same, in fact, every XX version has some different content, galleries, for example). #Reload was first update as I remember. XX has a lot versions though, more than just #Reload. And of course, AC+R has official online mode, plus AC+R published directly by ASW unlike #Reload or even CT and CSE on Steam. Also, read this[www.arcsystemworks.jp].

Should you get it? Definitely, since #Reload is outdated (came in 2004) and AC+R (came in 2013) is the latest version of XX, plus you'll support ASW directly and will tell that you want more games from them on PC.

Accent Core Plus R is the latest game in the Guilty Gear XX series. The entire XX series is, as follows:

Guilty Gear XX
Guilty Gear #Reload
Guilty Gear Slash
Guilty Gear Accent Core
Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus
Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R

  • #Reload was released in 2003, AC+R was released in 2013.
  • AC+R has two extra characters that #Reload doesn't, Order Sol and A.B.A.
  • The balance between #Reload and AC+R is very different; many gameplay changes were made in the decade between the two games. Many characters have new moves, or significantly altered move properties. New gameplay mechanics were introduced.
  • Kliff and Justice are only competitively playable as normal characters in AC+R. In all prior games, they were boss characters that usually went banned in competitive play. They've been rebalanced in AC+R.
  • Different story mode.
  • New voice-acting. Most (if not all?) VAs did a retake for Accent Core, so characters sound different.
  • AC+R has online by default. #Reload requires you to install a netplay mod to play online.

He means that they are really "tournament legal" now and not broken haha.

Still, Flotilla explained better.

There are lots of differences between them, but from an outside perspective i wouldn't blame someone for saying they're the same.
Same character sprites, same music, same backgrounds.
The inclusion of the online mode sounds great, but you often ended up with laggy fights on the console versions which i assume this comes from, BlazBlue on Steam also has bad online so don't hold out too much hope for this.

I hope i'm wrong, i hope this is the ultimate 2D fighter on Steam but it's not easy to have faith these days.

ABA was first introduced in Isuka and Order-Sol in Slash.

Also XX = X2 in the titles. It depends on the version and region of release for which way it is written in each game's title.
