One sided rollback at higher pings?
Met a new friend who lives on a different continent than me. I was expecting the typical teleporting you would get under worst case scenario rollbacks, as we were at 200+ ping. However, as we played, he mentioned that he wasn’t getting any teleports at all. I asked him to record it and, lo and behold, he had a FLAWLESS match on his end. I also recorded on my end and showed him what I was seeing, to confirm that I was getting teleports while he wasn’t.

Important things to mention:
-We both have similar PC specs that are above recommended requirements and have no issue with the network performance test.
-He has a fiber optic ISP, while I have a 1Gb down rural cable ISP.
-He was playing at 0 delay without issue, while I tested both 1 and 4 frames of delay, still having significant rollbacks even at 4 frames.
-Seemed like the average ping was between 215-240 ms.
-We are both using ethernet on the PC’s we are playing on.
-The friend mentions that he has gotten rollbacks when playing against players in other regions, and does not know what they were seeing on their end. I am the only person that he knows has had this issue. I have a typical experience when playing other players in the USA.

Has one sided rollback been mentioned before? Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

He was playing at 0 delay without issue + Seemed like the average ping was between 215-240 ms.

what the eff :ggxxacsol: lol that shouldn't be happening.

edit: I can comment that from my experience it is not always the same for both players. Like my friend has not great internet and mine is good and super stable and our rollback is seemingly random. Both of us complaining at different times, sometimes i'm okay and they aren't etc. It's not the old SF5 rollback where one person gets ALL the rollback but it sure is...something.

Try setting it so you both have V-sync off if that's not the case already. A friend and I had the same exact issue where I was getting doggied by the rollback and he was perfectly fine. I hope that fixes it!

tell your friend to set input delay to 2. Setting it to 0 might cause issues to other player.

Sad to say that neither of those suggestions worked. Vsync off and tried various buffer settings on both sides, made no difference.

it might be something with your network provider? like your internet is taking a bigger trajetory than needed to get to your friend, it happened to me and a friend of mine, you can maybe try a VPN such as radmin to connect to your friend with, that may work.
