really hope the team behind updating this game adds the option to have one at some point

Dash macros drastically change a game, it won't get retroactively added into games where there wasn't one.

Backdashes and Slayers Backdash Cancel in this game are balanced around the fact that there is no dash macro.

No but things like instant air dashes are more learn-able than they might first appear.

Clearly after watching daisuke's vision with strive balancing is not what they intentionally do, and slayer's backdash cancel is a glitch in itself; then again do you even play this game to throw in "the game is supposed to be the way it is" argument against the op. if anything QOL is a boost to game popularity. even stuff like increasing harder frc window timings on certain moves can boost the numbers.

I'm not really sure I understand how so but I'm also not someone who plays this game super seriously. I just saw that strive has one and it's really convenient there. I don't see how having the option would completely change the meta, if anything it would allow for harder techniques to be used more consistently which would raise the skill ceiling if anything

If harder techniques can be used more consistently, that reduces the skill ceiling. The point of harder techniques is that they should be hard and rare as a consequence.

I'm not sure I'm willing to trade the intense difficulty of this game for more players. If I want a new fighter that's easier on the hands...and ears...then I'll play a new fighter. The pleasure of getting a two frame timing down in your head and watching it win a game for you in a clutch situation is a very special feeling. Same goes for nailing a dash in a tight window to make a combo work.
As obtuse and weird as some of this stuff can feel, becoming proficient in it is deeply satisfying. The only time I would ever advocate for touching old games is if balancing in the cast is just totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to where it's not fun at all.

yeah when you play offline, online all those timings are way harder to pull off, not to mention random desyncs and frame drops from laptop/wifi players, well except when you are one of those and your opponent needs to adjust to your pc timings, then i guess its fine as it is.

Why would you want to do that? I don't understand.
