SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II

SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II

How is the port?
This company is known for having some of the worse PC ports on the market. I would love to support more Japanese PC releases but after buying DW8 and being really disappointed with that mess of port, I'm wondering if they have stepped their game up. Does this game actually have PC specific options, does it support resolutions above 1080p and is it locked at 30fps?

1080p max.
PS3 version with PS4 char models polygon count.
Prone to crashing ATM apparently, but they might fix it eventually, hopefully.
Only keyboard button icons (no xbox or even generic gamepad).

So pretty much par for the course with Koei's PC effort. As in avoid like the plague if you want my honest opinion. Get on PS4 if you can, or wait for the fire sale.

Never once crashed on me, and these aren't keyboard buttons, just their generic icons for actions... the rest is true though.
It's 1080p, 60fps, but the textures are ugly and there are occasional fps drops.

My online partner crashed a few times during co-op and only on one certain map, yet to experience any other technical hitches. While not on par with the PS4 version, the game looks better than the Dynasty Warriors games released on Steam at the moment, at least. In the English community guides section for the game there is a guide showing the different graphics options and some port info which is quite good.

Only had one place it crashed twice but hasn't since then, that was more an issue on my end though with failing hardware in which I have corrected.

I'll admit I thought it was keyb buttons from the fact people complained about no gamepad UI and the screenshots in the guide have keyb prompts. On PS4 they use proper DualShock icons, so they could certainly have done the same here (xbox) and not go with generic non representative icons.

And yeah, 60fps, I forgot to mention it!

-PS4 character models
-Ps3 textures and troops
-NO post processing effects from the PS4 (which is what makes the ps4 version look quite nice)
-60fps.
-1080p
-Stupid input icons

Not the best.

Warriors games have never been less than 60 fps (cept for the fist of the north star one), I dunno why people are expecting anything else from this.
Even the japan only pc releases of dynasty warriors have always been 60 fps.
Max res is actually 1200p, but yeah nothing larger than 1920x

It's so much fun to play though, damn I do love these types of games.

Really, for the little time I've played (I'd like to spend hours on it though), the port is amazing to me. Capped at 60 fps with all max settings, it looks great, colorful, fluid...

Of course, dont look for perfection: it doesnt exist. But if you're looking for fun, the game is really good, playability is perfect.

If you're using an XB1 controller, don't bother. Triggers don't work.

DAMN straight
It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port. As usual. Also: enjoy unskippable cringe-inducing cutscenes.
Love the people who say that this is an amazing port.
To those people: You are the perfect customer for Koei; be proud of yourself and keep buying their games. :squirtyay:

Unskippable cutscenes? I've been able to skip them all......

Yes I will continue to buy the SW games as I enjoy the series, imagine that.

No the port isn't perfect, nothing is and it's still enjoyable.

PS3 Port don't buy, PS4 version is MUCH better.
Probably is some kind of agreement with Sony, unfortunately like One Piece and Dynasty Warriors for example.
