The only way to play it is keyboard but what psychopath uses a keyboard to play an action game?

Still bloody pissed off about the whole thing but I'm glad I'm finally about to play it

The above fix does have some extra steps past just dragging the file and dropping into your game directory, so if you'd like a quick & easy version, you can just extract this to your install directory alongside your game executable:

You are a life saver! This was the only solution that worked for me! Now I can finally enjoy the game. Thank you!
Not working for me, i place in folder SW42 but no work, cry
Download the files from this link https://www.dropbox.com/s/0246qj8zaw6n4w7/SW42-GamepadFix.rar?dl=0 the files should be named "dinput8.dll" and "dinput8base.dll" drag and extract those files into the main Samurai Warriors 4-II folder. If done correctly, it should look like this. Hope this helps!
Make a backup and try this:
1. Control Panel - Printers and Other Hardware - Game Controllers. Note your gamepad OEM name in the Game Controllers.
2. Open RegEdit (Start > Run... > "regedit")
3. Search for your gamepad OEM name in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM.
4. Rename it to "Logitech Dual Action"
5. Restart your PC.
IF that doesn't work. Disable Steam Controller support and try x360ce.
