If you are still wondering what happened, do you recall using Steam to play this game all those years ago?
And are we talking about Peggle Deluxe or a different game?
Here is a list of Pop Cap games on Steam.
Was it any of these?
http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/1418/PopCap_Power_Pack/
Most of those games are awesome btw, esp Peggle, Zuma, and Plants vs Zombies!
Anyway, it does seem that your profile currently lists Peggle Deluxe as having been played (8hrs ish).
By that logic, you do indeed own a copy of that particular title. On Steam, and should be able to download and / or play that particular game.
To be sure, once a game is purchased and registered to your Steam account, it will stay there.
Having paid for it, you will have the rights to download the game until the end of all things basically.
Perhaps you already know (im just covering all the bases here) - a game being in your account may not mean its physically installed in your library.
One reason it may seem to dissapear is if it has been uninstallled from your library - perhaps you upgraded your PC in that time period - added new storage capacity etc.
Anyway, initially there are two things you can do -
You could simply check the "games owned" heading in your profile as a quickie but
the first is as follows:
In the Steam library view that lists your games, (big list column down the left hand side) maybe with custom catagories, there is a search bar at the top.
Near to this, just to the right is a tag that says "installed".
If this tag is showing, its filtering your games library to show what is actually installed on your machine at this time.
If a quick glance or the search tool doesnt reveal the game that you recall playing, click on the "installed" tag.
You can change it to show "games" instead of "installed".
This should list ALL the games in your account, instead of just what is currently installed. Using this filter, games that you own in your account but are not currently installed will be greyed out.
You can click on the greyed out titles and choose to install them or not.
Perhaps your game will show there?
A second option is to check your Steam transaction history (Steam settings) to see if you actually bought it via Steam.
Not to say this is what is happening with you but here it is anyway...
An older computer I used (back in the day) had purchased copies of various Popcap games on the hard drive.
This was before Steam. Bear that in mind.
The games were Rocket Mania, Zuma and that side scrolling tank game they made.
They were all downloaded as demo versions off the internet, and the "full version" was unlocked by clicking on a menu option within the game itself and entering a product key obtained via their website payment effort.
So fast forward a few years, the Pop Cap games were forgotten about, new machines were built and upgraded and Steam was installed.
I had strong memories of playing these games about that time and was puzzled that I could not find them.
At the time these Pop Cap games were not available on Steam.
Obviously by now Pop Cap had been taken over by another company but in the end I actually found the original hard drive from one of my older computers and discovered it contained the Pop Cap games I was looking for!
That I swore I already owned yet could not find for the life of me.
As it happened only a few of them worked, some had reverted to demo versions as just copying the folders to my new machine was not enough despite having been activated previously because reasons.
In the end, after buying Plants Vs Zombies on Steam, the old Pop Cap games became available and I just bought a few in a sale for buttons.
Not that they were expensive in the first place.
Def worth it though.
