The expedition's path winds through dense woodland, far from the safety of the village. The workers brought supply crates to build up a small outpost, but in your hands they're more than cargo. Leave them in place to create chokepoints and slow the advance, or smash them to draw enemies closer. Just be ready: if you can't put them down fast enough, your gate will be the one paying the price.
Cutting down the trees has awakened something wretched to confront the workers. Every Vilegrowth carries the Festering trait: they periodically swell in size, growing tougher and more dangerous with every passing moment. Cut them down while they're small, or face something far harder to kill. The crates aren't just obstacles, they're your window. Leave them on the battlefield to buy yourself time, or strike them down to lure weaker enemies in close before they can fester to full size.
