Nothing stopping you from coming back later either; I did both optional Junk Pit bosses right away but neither of them seemed like they were meant to be fought immediately.
Game seems very fair so far, it’s just it will ruin your health very quickly if you do the wrong things sometimes.
You fight him in a swamp, which messes up your dash, so the only way to avoid him is to jump-dash, but his collision is so massive, you end up getting hit anyway.
The decision to populate the arena with endlessly re-spawning husks was a terrible one too, but the fact you get a save/repair-point right AFTER killing him and not before is just an insult to injury.
This is the boss where after wasting 3 hours trying to kill him, I broke out the Cheat Engine.
It is possible to approach that save point from the opposite side, so people who are having trouble can hold off on fighting Elsom until they get to the point in the game where they're able to reach the save point. Then you can fight him after saving at that point, and you'll be literally next door if you die. That's actually what I ended up doing during my first playthrough, albeit unintentionally.
When he jumps and swings at you, jump and dash through him.
If he only swings at you, same, jump and dash through him.
Then you can turn around and melee him once, then jump and dash away. Or just use range attacks to be safe.
Also, fight him only after getting the ship part that's left of the junk pit shaft. This way you'll be coming in from the left of the room, where you have a save and a statue.
after all it was a hard boss to learn, but once you learn the strategy and when and how to dash is a fair boss
and for the future bosses, you might encounter ones that are so difficult that you think it might be randomly way too harder, thats when you need to change your strategy, use other modules, use other weapons, try different strategy, i had issues defeating Henriette the second time, after changing weapon and modules i did massive damage and killed her in like 2 tries, it took me 10-15 tries to understand that i had the wrong modules-weapon
just try different things
