Push that business(es) that make(s) your most profit(s) combined with reaching the unlock milestones for the bonuses.
In the very beginning, don't stack lemons and news too high. 50 or 100. Focus on getting everything to 25 first. Then 50. ...
newspapers can upgrade other sales
there are ''everything unlock'' for silly numbers such as 666 and 777
later in the game you will realise 1 or 2 types of investments will be 90% of your profits, so you will want to focus on those.
Lemonade 600
Newpapers: 264
Carwash: 253
Pizza: 248
Donuts: 247
Shrimp: 250
Hockey: 249
Movie: 249
Bank: 280
Oil: 295
Now normally I'd try to get them all to the next upgrade (300 of each) but I'm working on my Oil since it's so close and gives me the highest incoming. One I get it to 300 then I will work on getting the rest on 300 and it won't take long because the money from oil is coming in so fast. Then I will work on getting Oil to 400 and then everyone else to 400.
I am still fairly new (only have 3 mil angels) but it's been working for me so far.
EDIT: Early one while I keep building lemonade stands and the income comes in so fast, it lets me upgrade a bunch and hire all managers.
1. Buy all businesses
2. Hire all basic managers
3. Buy first round of cash upgrades
4. Get everything to 100 (Lemons up to 300 if you want)
5. Reset at 50-100 angels
nonetheless, there is some simple math to use here. althought the cash/sec display is not up yet for early game, generally oil rigs earn the best cash/sec with lemonade in second place. newspapers usually earn the least cash/sec but they give fantastic multipliers to other industries fairly regularly (each +25 or +50). you want to buy just enough copies to hit the next multiplier unlock in almost every case, since the unlocks give a minimum of x2 (often more).
if you have multiple industries near the next unlock, use the 'Buy MAX' mode to see which one is most likely to come sooner, and focus on that industry. if you want to full-on math it out, here's a link for industry prices: http://adventure-capitalist.wikia.com/wiki/Businesses
this game benefits those with slight OCD and like to keep numbers round: it becomes easier to forecast how much the next unlock will cost (and from there guesstimate how long you will need to wait before u have enough to buy it). e.g. if you buy in multiples of ten, it becomes fairly obvious that the next 10 Newspapers combined will cost 4x as much as the previous 10 Newspapers combined.
