[bug] going offline and changing system date lets you skip waiting and earn cash.
Would be good to reset players if they there's system date anomalies. Just sayin.

Because otherwise people will cheat to not waste time? Sounds almost smarter than never playing it in the first place.

In a game with a real money cash shop this seems like a real bad bug to leave in place. Unless they don't care.

So the game doesn't sync with the Steam time, but with the local computer time? i kek'd

So put steam into offline mode, change date then boot up game?

if you feel like cheating, then yes. But i think you might have to disable your ethernet adapter/unplug internet to get it to use system time as a fallback.
also don't forget that this is a 32-bit game subject to the overflow of the 32-bit time integer that occurs in the year 2038 and breaks it.

not everyone uses automatic maintainence. I disabled it as soon as microsoft failed to tell anyone what it's really doing. Sure, they've listed some of the things it does, but the microsoft windows EULA is pretty open so they could also be cataloging which software you have, etc, copying browser history so they can improve page predicition and autocomplete for all users, It just struck me as odd whenever a customer asks what automatic maintainence does, even in a tech savy way, the generic response is always said, checking for updates, defragmenting disk, and other system upkeep. Their windows support page on it gives the same BS line. Autoupdating is great for MOST users, but i'd rather check potential issues with each KB number before It is installed. also windows defragmentation tools have never been any good. also I despise the cloud model windows is almost forcing on it's users (onesync on by default!) and to top it off, we get a tablet UI on the latest release with it's own app store that's selection of good to crapware outdoes android play store by far. I've had automatic maintainence disabled for almost 9 months across a few computers, you just have to be smart and check each update, remember to defragment and eventually repartition every year, it's just like owning a nice car and doing work in your garage to keep it running smooth. I would not trust a car that everynight at 1am drove itself out of the garage and into a maintainence station, then stayed there sometimes for days at a time (prefetch data queing can take days, when maintainence does this you can hear the fans running full, and eating a full cpu core. also the search system is a joke. disabling search indexing removes the ability to search entirely? Why? you can do searches without an index on every pre-vista Windows OS, why should I dedicate my resources to accidentally indexing the millions of .XML files that windows comes with itself? Also never had a BSOD on my computers in past 6 months. 7 months ago I tried to get some files from my old old rig i built in early high school and let's just say that those were much more ignorant times for me. I actually had left a screwdriver in the case, so turning the computer sideways made it fall into the motherboard and fan area when I packed it away years ago.

Nice bit of information...strangely it's SO far off your own topic..I'm not even gonna adress it.

I'm just gonna ask you to telll me why you would risk damaaging windows by changing the date to cheat on a free to play game with no leaderboard.

it seems to only work when the game is refused internet connection, either via firewall or disconnecting internet source. and yeah, that's why I pointed it out as a bug. if there's a huge time gap in offline they should probably say you have to go online to recieve/verify the nonillions and such

It's not about cheating, it's about preventing cheating. I figured they would atleast block earned fake money when time has passed while offline, and require you to be online to recieve it. Also the only way I could hurt my system by doing that is if I was on a 32-bit OS and I set it past 10:14:07 on 1/18/2038 (relative to timezones, I'm UTC-5) which is the point where all possible values for the system time signed 32bit int are reached (1111111111). after that you cycle all the way back to 0000000000 and overflow which is bad. but on a 64-bit os, 32bit programs are only subject to the issue, not the operating system itself (some 32-bit dynamic link libraries and legacy applications are, but they do not cause any serious harm unless you leave the system time there for a prolonged state or start/update those parts of windows. command prompt is also prone to crashes when running certain commands.

All I did was set system to to 2020 as a test. They should either block funds gaining while offline when rejoining (que them for the next online session, if verification fails, then reset the naughty cheater) or more likely the dev actually doesnt seem to mind. which is fine if thats how they feel.

Well Kongregate has a gaming history, mostly Massive Multi.....and..... they are usually about the money. I'm actually surprised by the freebie. Truthfully I doubt they'll do anything to change that since scores and totals are simply for your own personal ....?pleasure?

BTW after you stopped denying internet acess/reset clock to proper did the totals drop or stay high? (just curious...I'm not gonna do it...)

Not sure. Upgrades and managers etc stay in place as do earned angels.

It worked for me. you have to unplug internet, change system time to a near future date, and launch from the exe in the folder of the game.

Nope... maybe my PC is too smart :D
1. I closed the game
2. I disconnected from I-net
3. I changed the date with 2 days (11.04.2015)
4. Enabled I-net connection
5. Started game (tried from original EXE also from STREAM, both with no results)

does NOT work for me ;/
