But maybe it's worth for them.
Probably whale bait.
Hard to miss the fact the leaderboard is likely 'faked' and not based on real players, and is just their for the sake of providing challenge and sense of accomplishment. And to be a place to wedge in the whale bait at.
FYI, 1st place is only about 66k for me right now.
RNG hates me with the goals on this event.
I'll be lucky if I can get to, and hold, 12th on the leaderboard, with the way the game is with goals right now.
Which is not surprising. I had similar difficulty the previous time this particular event happened. (didn't even get the 8th reward last time)
A cruel irony (and perhaps unsurprising) that pulling out an outfit with event bonuses, is making things seem to be harder than before.
(just checked and they're up to 305k while 2nd place is at 118k), everyone below them is under 75k
Oh, you mean the Whale Bait.
But then again, the basis of said Whale Bait is basically Artificial Difficulty, so kind of counts as the game itself cheating.
It's a 'free to play' (free to pay/freemium) game, after all. (with events leaning toward 'pay to win'/'pay to skip grind' territory).
With all these different numbers people mention for their leaderboards, I decided to do a little testing. Make some observations.
From what I can figure out, event goals are mainly based on 'cash per second of investments.
So outfits, items, angels, perhaps even gilding, nothing really matters, it will be looking at the present cash per second to calculate goals, especially timed goals (and sometimes ignoring cash on hand). Even having to many Time Warps stockpiled, seems to become an obstacle. The more I stockpile for 'rainy days', the more often I seem to get timed goals, that need 'far' more than 3 hours to achieve.
Exclusive Reward outfit sets seem to make it even worse.
The thing where I couldn't make it to 12th? I was trying out an Exclusive Reward set for the first time. (+27% angel bonus total in events) After ditching it for a mixed set with far less bonuses (2x120% invest speed, -11.66% invest cost), I am now able to get to and hold 6th place, but needing 24k+ means getting to 5th is unlikely before the event ends.
It's no wonder the EU gets fed up with (potentially predatory) micro-transaction practices that seems happen a lot in games, like those that are 'free to play'.
Makes me wonder why many game companies, are adverse to 'earning' money.
#1: The buy button for an investment, leave the game idle yet keep slowly building up the income amount per second over time.
#2: The profit booster. Which probably does little good in the long run, unless one has a timed goal to make/stockpile cash, and doesn't want to use a time warp.
#3: A bad finger or faulty mouse button, making normal rapid clicking difficult at best, and at least making a valid reason for using an auto-clicker.
