Yes. It's just hard to tell since we're used to dealing with smaller numbers. I.E. 99% of 1 Quadrillion is 1 Trillion, unless I suck at math.

Edit- Actually I think it's 10 Trillion.

The numbers are just irritating. 99,9999% can be seen like *0,00001 which are just five 0's. This isn't much if you are already at a few dozen 0's.

yeah, 99% of a ridiculously huge number, is still a ridiculously huge number. As ertai mentioned it usually means you get 100-200 more before it's right back up there in cost.

Think of it like this:

99% of 100 (1e2) = 1 (1e0)
99.9% of 100 (1e2) = 0.1 (1e-1)
99.99% of 100 (1e2) = 0.01 (1e-2)
Thus every '9' reduces the difference in powers by 1.
etc.

So 99.99999999999% has 13 nines, so for something to cost 1 (1e0), the base price would be 1e13.
99.99999999999% of 1e40 = 1e27, etc.

So in this game, 99.9999% is relative to a price reduction of 1e6 (or 1,000,000). If the base price is 1e9 (1 billion, 1,000,000,000), then you would pay 1e3 (1 thousand, 1,000).

everyone here either never heard of math, or is far too deep into it. i'm certain you all ate your math books, though.

it says "99.999% cheaper". that means they've become a hundred thousand times cheaper, as the cost should be reduced by 99.999%, leaving only .001%

...elementary math is tricky, eh?
