generally speaking you open it, buy some things close it, and then don't touch it for a day, shouldn't be eating your CPU too bad
Right click desktop - Nvidia control panel - Manage 3d settings - Program settings - Add Adventure capitalist if it's not already in the list - Go to Background application max frame rate (choose what fps you want). Then go to Max frame rate and add the same fps there.
I went with default FPS of 30 background, and 58 Max Frame Rate. Clicked on 'Apply' before exiting app.
Fan noise is back to normal.
