AdVenture Capitalist

AdVenture Capitalist

This or clicker heroes
So let me start off i found clicker heroes before this, and ive spent a lot of time on it. Most of which is idling while open since you dont progress (only farm current level) offline.

Im sooo sick of acsending in that game, which is basically a restart of the game then claiming hero souls that add up for global DPS and are also spent on "skills"

But i cant for the life of me gather myself to do several restarts today, im sick of it, restarting then spending 45min raising heros just to get a bit further than i was before. Its become too monotonous. I feel like Clicker heroes should be played where you restart the game every hour or two, over and over and over....

So im wondering what similarities and differences this game has, before i go download and get hooked and spend a few week getting the same exact game with a different look.

Does this game have you restarting it over and over to gain incramental progression?

AC is a pure idle game, so it takes very little time or thought to play however there is no rng or options avaliable other than the single optimal path. CH has many more options and choices that allow flexibility while still gaining an advantage.
CH > AC, in my opinion.

I played Clicker Heroes for a while but it got way too redundant for me.. using the popular gilding strategy I'm up to Phtalo or whoever that green ranger is with all gilds focused on him, and all it is is grind up levels until you make enough HS, reset, spend HS on certain ancients, rinse and repeat like 10 times a day if you want to get anywhere eventually. At some point, you move gilds onto the next ranger, rinse and repeat some more through the same exact set of levels with nothing unique after level 1000 or so.. even before then the only thing in those levels that are unique are the unique bosses encountered every 100 levels.

I feel like there's a bit more to this game. Companies evolve, so at one point Lemons can be a big money maker, at another Donuts will. The initial long grind on the moon feels rewarding once you finally do get 100 lasers and things pick up for a bit. Doubling your angels actually has an immediate, noticeable effect most of the time, whereas in Clicker Heroes it can feel more like trying to wittle down a mountain with a plastic bottle every reset.
THIS!
I started Adventure Capitalist before I started CH, and after a few ascends I got bored of CH and quit. In CH the restarts aren't rewarded and when you ascend you simply re-do the progress you had spent a month on with a couple bonuses. However, the gilded heros or the power-ups you get from restarting make little to no effect on the game until you've ascended a dozen times. In CH I was only satisfied with my progress after a dozen ascends. What makes Adv. Capitalist fun is seeing your money accumulate almost instantly, and seeing your lemonade stands gradually go from 1 mil per second to 100 octotrigintillion per second over the course of a month. Also, where in CH there is a curve to the rewards you get from each reset, AC is fairly linear, with a mathematically constant advancement instead of the bonuses from souls.
Although I can understand if you want continual progression like in EVE (a game I am very fond of), AC takes a lot less time to have fun with, and if you decide to play it, you will be addicted for a long time.

I can play AdVenture Capitalist casually and then leave it alone for several hours before it's time to reset (usually when my overall progress has doubled or tripled). Clicker Heroes seems like a much more active, grindy experience -- at least for the first few weeks of gameplay that I've seen -- but it also has more depth to it.
Here's my take (from someone's who's spent WAAAY too much time with both): Clicker Heroes is the evolution of Cookie Clicker. It's taking those concepts forward. This is more of a side-step. For starters: there is NO clicking, at least not in the CC/CH sense. After the first few seconds, you will never click on anything other than to buy things again. It's basically the opposite of CH. CH, if played correctly, is a very active game, either through optimal resets or auto-clicker/skills. AC is a true idle game. After a reset, you'll spend a few minutes getting it back up to speed, but the VAST majority of the time, you aren't doing anything other than waiting. If you don't have patience, look elsewhere. One big difference (which has probably been pointed out, but I only read the OP), is that the angels here, once spent, unlike hero souls, are GONE. You do not get them back and what you buy with them does not survive a reset. You will progress MUCH faster if you spend them, but if you overspend, you will get yourself stuck. The "less than 1%" guideline works pretty well, but just keep that in mind. As for clicker games with no reset mechanic, look at tap heroes. It's decent and there is no resetting.
main differences:
adventure capitalist - click for upgrades only (after the first second of gameplay)
clicker heroes - actively click your life away

summary:
if you waste your time doing nothing, adventure capitalist is a perfect fit. if you prefer to waste your time clicking or dealing with macros, clicker heroes may be more suited for you.
I like Adventure Capitalist. But i tried Clicker Heroes for a few hours, then deleted Clicker heroes. Adventure Capitalist is great when you play one hour every day.
if i were you i would play this game the hole day long
