Can I stop the game from running in the background?
Hi there,

I recently started playing AdVenture Capitalist, but I've noticed a slight problem with it: it runs in the background. Now, I know this is intended and all, but for me this is a problem. See, I have this worn-down MacBook Pro and every mildly CPU-intensive action makes it overheat so that its fans go absolutely mental. Since AdVenture Capitalist takes 50% CPU when I'm offline, my fans are constantly making noise and it's annoying. So how do I stop the game from running in the background?

Is there any reason you can't exit the game and come back later?

What he said, close it and come back later, you are still earning money, even when the game is closed, as long as you have managers to run the different businesses.

I think this is what he means is the problem, though i don't see how or if this is demanding of the computer.

If he has it running 24/7 in the backround that'd be too stupid to believe.

What I'm saying is that, even though the game is turned off, it still runs in the background. I'm saying I literally can't get it to not run. Whenever I close the game, it still runs in the background, at least that's what the Task Manager says.

tbh get a new PC alreadey, if you can't even handle that i question if it can even run an interent browser.

Tried closing it with task manager? you also realize that since you won't get cash in the background you might as well just uninstall the game?

The thing is, it only started happening today. I installed the game this Friday and have been playing it since, but when I ran it this morning it kept running in the background after closing.
I'm noticing though that it's not the actual game itself, because the Task Manager shows it with its icon and the task that's taking up my RAM does not have an icon. Its name is "adventure-capitalist" though. When I launch the game, the task taking up my RAM is still present, but joined by the game, using up a total of 98.5% of my available RAM. I could provide screenshots if needed.

I don't know about Mac but on Windows when you ESC out the game the game closes. It isn't having the game on in the background that generates money for you, it goes by your system clock. The game simply makes a note in the save file of the system time when you exit the game and then a note when you start it again so it knows how long you were offline for. If it's still showing in your task manager just force close it, you'll still earn money.
