Norton 360 keeps removing the game EXE file.
It says that it is a high threat. But many people have used this file.

Norton was telling my friend that Roblox and Minecraft were high threats. Though they are dumb games, they are not virues. I wouldn't trust Norton, sorry.

I'm not actually sure. I have had a lot of problems with Norton itself, so maybe try looking into another antivirus. If not, I don't quite know how to keep the EXE file without you deleting Norton. You can look it up, but other than that, I don't know. Sorry.

You should be able to tell Norton SONAR to make the exe an exception, like a white list.

I am having the same issue. Are we sure that Norton is incorrect about the threat, though?

Norton says thousands of people have used this file.

Norton is a bad antivirus. It uses too much RAM to scan your computer. My Emsisoft AntiMalware says that AdCap is a safe exe. And if you say that it's not a virus, you can go to quarantaine and tell it that the file is safe. Than the community of the antisoftware will rescan it with several other antiviruses. Norton needs to learn a lot and has never been a good antivirus program.

Norton... norton happens to be norton x,D
about your question OP i will try to answer in the most "easy to follow" way
You can add a real time exclusion, for this you have to open norton, go to settings and then under "Detailed Settings" select the antivirus select "Scans and Risks" go to "Exclusions / Low Risks" you will find a "configure +" next to "Sonar" and "Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect" in this section add the exe file then click on "configure" and a window will pop up with the name Real time eclusion" click "add" and select the entire folder of the game and check the "include subfolders" box click "ok" and "apply" and that's all, your entire folder or games folder if you select the steam library will be excluded from any future action
this will prevent the auto scan to delete other files and the items to exclude will prevent the antivirus to delete your exe file
you also may want to download the full manual from symantec and on the page 37 to 44 you will find more options about sonar, signatures, etc. ^^

I like simple antivirus, just display a popup with two options:
Threat detected!
[Click to block] (that is to say, continue blocking)
[Click to allow]
Optionally show more details like threat level, virus name, date, source, executable, path, etc.
