If you use pseudonyms to say they are bots, it doesn't work like that. I was Illustrious Moneybags 629 or something like that.
But no matter what, reaching a top rank (top 5) without cheating or spending, will require a massive effort and that you're willing to literally sacrifice almost all of your time for the duration of the event... and then you'll also need some degree of luck with the tasks (like when you can complete one gold task almost instantly after completing the previous one, for example if the first task is to accumulate a huge pile of cash, and the next one is to spend a huge pile of cash - that makes for a perfect combo)
But you need to be online almost 24/7 to complete the various tasks. Keep going for as long as you have "have XXX of XXX" and restart once all tasks say "buy xxx of xxx" and making sure that your earnings are on max once the button mash event activates.
I'm currently in 3rd place with a tiny hope of reaching 2nd - 1st seems out of the question. Standings are such, that I risk dropping as far down as 7th if I don't keep working non stop. Is it fun? Nope, I'm finding it increasingly frustrating, but I've invested so much time already, that I don't want to risk losing the nice rewards. I don't ever think I'll do this again, though... life's too short.
Last night I dropped 3 places because I had to sleep, so you're right: sleeping and working really hampers ones chances of success. Which is also why I said, I'd probably never do this again: too much stress and pressure.
From what I read, we should be getting the prizes instantly? I'm hoping to be able to launch the Mars campaign with my wins, but as they haven't been paid, I can't do that.
I'm not sure how it went for everyone else in insert coins but I was matched up with a group of 15 people all over 100k which has never happened in the past. My rewards were small and difficult to achieve. I ended up with 120KI but got bored and had to go to bed then work in the last 14 hours. I think I finished 10th.
1st point: It is utterly pointless using multipliers and fluxes because the more angels you get, the more difficult challenges become. I used a 27X multiplier only to see one of my challenges go from 229 to 232, and others accordingly.
2nd Point: The best strategy would almost seem to amass a crap load of 3 hour time warps as the 1 day and 7 day warps are too powerful. Whenever you get to the last day and have a long challenge, warp it, get the points, sometimes 4,300 + 4 smaller point rewards at once. Each time you use a warp, you're getting the increased power from angels. I'm thinking about grinding out the next ten events and getting as many warps as possible and then buying with earned gold 60 3 hour warps. That would potentially equate to some big scores.
