Event cheaters

How do people cheat in Events? I dont want to cheat but in my opinion its really anoying to see the top 5 with the same amount of angels. Why cant they do something about it?

I usually wind up in the 101-2500 range. And honestly, with the amount of obvious cheats I saw on the leaderboards, I was Ok with that.
I much preferred the rewards for that than 60 (something)th place in the current format.
I do like the fact that the scores I saw on the last leaderboard appeared legit.

Edit:yep I got one Time Warp Express..... I have zero use for Megabucks at this point so, I didn't pay attention to how many of those I may have gotten..

I'd assume a lot of the cheaters are using a macro to simulate rapid clicking to keep the bonus clock up. They set that up then go watch a movie, Eat dinner, Goto work or even sleep and the macro would keep the bonus clock running. I have no idea how to do it but it can be done.

No, no, no, no, no. It is competitive and challenging when we are competing with and challenging all players on the leaderboard. I am all for reform of the tiers and prizes if you are looking to freshen things up but, this is definitely not the answer. I appreciate that you asked for feedback and you should be congratulated for, at least, trying something new but, its a big fat thumbs down from me, thank you.

cheater had 4.5 octoquadrillion,
place 2 (probably legit) about 5 nonillion
place 3 (me) about 4 nonillion.

That was a few minutes before end of the event, and i ended up in place 3

It's safe to say that 4.5 octoquadrillion is impossible, someone on a spending spree might get somewhere into the X-decillions.

I'm usually near the top of the old tier 6, and if the rewards are worth it, I can easily push into tier 5. This time around, I got tier 9 for the same amount of play, for a warp as reward. Much less than normal. The rewards for the tiers I would easily be able to attain if I played a bit more or used a couple warps just weren't worth it. The new shorter tier rewards only limit the number of items given out. I VERY much doubt that someone who never paid would suddenly start paying and vice-versa.

Why pay real hard earned money for bonuses just to lose those bonuses to some glitch which there is many different glitches.

Think about it, if you're the kind of person who can spend thousands of dollars on a good night out then dropping few hundreds on this game means nothing to you, so you spend couple hundred to win an event but end up not winning because of cheaters, there's a high chance you're going to spend more next time to try win again especially if the cheaters only win by small margin.

That would only explain small differences. Depending on the booster, you would get 5 to 50 (with enhancements) times what you would otherwise get. With the increasing cost of angels, in fact a lot less in extra angels. We"re talking about guys that have 1.000.000 times more than the next.

In my current event I see no cheaters. I'm 4th with 12 quadrillon. The guy in first place has 300 quadrillon. He could have gotten those legitimately, I think.

An hour into the latest event and the number one position again was someone with 30 octoquadragintilion angels.

How are we supposed to compete, particularly when people throw actual money into the game, but a 1337 h3x0r gets the best rewards? More relevantly, why should people keep giving you money when you can't control your leaderboards?

Your new leaderboard system still isn't working. Why not make the rewards based on a tier system that is set in stone - if you manage this many you get this set reward, no competing. Then any cheating doesn't affect the rest of us, and people can hack away and the only one who knows their score is themselves.

You have a couple of years' worth of leaderboard data to know what a reasonable score is for active players, so base it on that.

When the game was solely browser-based, your contempt for players (your customers, really, because when people stop buying you need to find another job) was tangible, particularly when the planets were nerfed the first time around. Now, it just feels insulting.

I started playing almost 5 years ago. The Kongregate game is now just an ad (for ♥♥♥♥'s cake, really?). Why should I continue playing?

Three questions, one suggestion. Will HyperHippo address any of them? Make that four.

Lucky you. For this event, since they raised the tier threshholds for the good items vs. other events (grrr), you need top 10 to get a useful item, and top 5 to get the item most people were likely hoping for from this event (the helmet to complete the set).

So on my group, 5th is just under a quadrillion, that's fine. 4th is 12 quintillion, high, but could definitely happen with heavy spending. 3rd is ~2 septillion, which is heading into the doubtful zone. And the top 2 are ~3 sextrigintillion are 30 octoquadragintillion, both total LOLNOPEs. So at least 2 and maybe 3 of the 5 useful slots are cheats.

The new system actually magnifies cheating problems if you draw a bad group. Besides the big problem that *what group you draw is one of the (maybe the) biggest factors on your final positioning*. The new system is terrible for non-whale non-cheating players all around. I think I'm out after this event.
