Why are you even worried? Not being in the Top 100 hurts your ego and shrinks your e-peen that much? Really?
But coming from a developer myself, this game has plenty of flaws that makes it easy for people to modify for example the amount of lemon lanes they own in this event. Meaning they could change it to a higher number and gain more cash. Or they might even be able to modify the cash itself. I am not sure.
But combine that with messing with system time and voila, you'd be even able to get higher numbers than the current #1 if you really tried. Depending on their database you can get the highest integer value or whatever they use to measure amount of angels with, which most likely is a value that I won't bother typing here.
I remember reading on the forums not too long ago about a guy that had a stack overflow error. That was probably someone that modified the numbers to beyond the max, which results into it turning into a negative value. That conclusion was based on the fact that he had a negative amount of angels upon claiming them lol.
TL;DR
In this game it is fairly easy to cheat through various means since there isn't any type of anti cheat in place. Top 1-25 is the cheaters category (most likely) while 26-1000 is a mixture of paying players and cheaters.
No hard feelings here though, I enjoy my place in the top 1000. I am simply just grinding megabucks from each event to get my 1500 bucks suit.
Thanks for your explanation, I also am around to 100-1000 mark. But it isn't really fare if a few people instantly get 10000000000000000000000x over the amout I have.
You're welcome and that definitely is true.
Nobody can cheat golds & angels with cheatengine. Those hackers are probably using an advanced one.
I don't know if they can be modified directly, but by increasing the amount of items they own they can earn more cash per item, meaning that they can indirectly modify the amount of angels the own since the amount of angels you receive is based on your income.
Other than that I don't agree with it being rigged. It is fairly easy to cheat in this game due to lack of anti-cheating measures. If you follow a basic tutorial on youtube for 5 minutes and try a bit you can easily cheat in this game and end in the top 25. I did it to figure out which people might be cheaters.
What I hate is that some people pay including me for small boosts such as flux capacitor etc but you will get overrun by the amount of cheaters anyway. And in the years that this game have aged with events there hasn't been a single sign of an anti-cheat thing coming into place.
Some games are pay-to-win (especially free ones) and others are cheat-to-win such as this one. I love reaching the highscores in any game I play, whether it is an idler or a mmorpg. But if the top is filled with cheaters it is very discouraging even if the game itself is fun and pretty solid.
The devs ONLY get paid if they have under-the-hood mechanics and systems, that entice fools people to pay real money for "perks" and power-ups, to try to be "NUMBAH ONE!!!!!" on some made up list.
They get advertising money from other platforms, including Fakebook and mobile, where they can get people to watch ads, that they get paid by companies to place intheir game(s), that people WILL watch, to earn "goodies". Steam does NOT have the ads because it is against Steam policies.So... maybe your complaints will be heard more clearly if you go play the game on a platform that actually makes more money for the devs, instead of on Steam, wher they income is limied to people falling for the very things you are falling for here, and spending real money for a spot on a meaningless "leaderboard".
Play FREE, for fun. They do not care if the game is rigged, or if people are using cheats or hacks. Because those things get fools to spend money on useless in-game power-ups, like some of you have been doing. There are no Trading Cards, no Badges, no Marketable items, emotes, backgrounds. Not worth spending any money on. Being #1 on the leaderboard is not going to do a dmaned thing for anyone IRL.
Seriously people...
My husband and I play, only during events. And whichever of us "wins" an event gets a prize. This event... I get my car washed, waxed and detailed. By him. Only "leaderboard" that matters to us. And the competition is for fun, purely for fun. Last time I lost. I gave him new socks. He would wash, wax and detail my car without the game. Neither of us spend a penny on F2P games. Because FREE = FREE.
The problem is when the game is manipulated to generate more cash. That's fraud. If I buy a power up, it's supposed to power up.
I have documented over a 3 minute time span that when I use gold to claim my angels, My angels are more than doubled, I generate more cash than I had, but my rank DROPS by over 300. I've done it 3 times. I'm not saying anything about cheaters. I'm not sure if they exist, because I don't believe there IS a leaderboard. I believe the numbers are generated by the game. I also believe the greater percentage of user names in the leaderboard do not exist.
That's not selling power ups... that's fraud.
If HyperHippo just evicted cheaters, they should brag about it.
I have 15 TRADING CARDS, but have yet to craft the BADGE.
Just saying... don't throw accusations of fraud or other illegal activities without proof.
