Cheaters in this game
So i've been playing since about the beginning of the game, when they were on Kongregate, and i've noticed that about 60% of players do not have any kind of patience and just use cheat engine. For the longest time this was fine and i couldn't care less because they really were just ruining it for themselves, but now there are events with leaderboards, and this changes things. Now, cheaters can actively prevent me from being able to get any half decent rewards from playing the events just because they cheat and i do not.

Now let me put this straight: Cheating in this game is unjustifiable, period.
Let me refute the standard arguments these jerks give:

"The game has no end, it's just for fun" : The game actually, DOES have an end, if you didn't know, and you can cheat to it but it's not as easy as most think due to the nature of the game and how astronomical the numbers get. "doing something 1*10^999 faster still wont win, you need to do that 1*10^999 times to be close."

"It doesn't affect you, so stop whining" : As explained above, it does now.

Cheaters are OFICIALLY ruining the game for other players, and thanks to that i really think that there needs to be some kind of punishment for cheating (or at least disabling leaderboard rewards for cheaters) Not only that, but think of all the money that people would pay to get those awesome #1 suits that is NOT being spent on this because you can just download a free program and cheat harder than the person in #2. It's possible that disabling cheaters could very well make Adventure capitalist, well, more capitalistic.

TL:DR: Cheaters were fine, i guess, but now they are screwing over not only legit players in the leaderboard, but hyper hippo out of the money that people might have spent, but ended up cheating. Cheat prevention right now should almost definitely be their #1 priority right now.

The solution is simple, let the cheaters out of the events, maybe a warning before permaban, if they cheat once then get a warning and no rewards, second time and out of the future events for that particular account, is easy for the devs to see who is cheating, there is a sync with the server each time you log and a final sync when the event is over, even if they are online all the time in the last sync they can see who could cheat :steammocking: this game is just maths and in just a matter of miliseconds you can see who is in the mathematical limits and who does not ^^
For the core game without events it really doesn't matter who cheats or who doesn't at the end cheaters will never buy any gold for the game, they just want to beat a game no matter how, so it will not have any impact on hyper hipo pockets ^^

without events maybe they don't lose money but on the events they surely do. I don't even check the rewards anymore, knowing that there is no way to get there without cheating. Without cheaters in a fair competition, if I would be around the top, I would consider buying some upgrades. So they definitely lose money on me :) Not billions though :D

Point is, if they don't punish cheaters, this game will go down in which nobody plays anymore, just the cheaters. If they do punish cheaters, people will actually pay real money to get their hands on those rewards if they really want to. 2 sides. Devs doesn't seem to care. So the players quit. I'm currently at rank 30. I will never reach rank 3. Even if I get a headstart, I will get down by cheaters and their octoquadragintillion angels in less than 1 hour, which is impossible if you really played more than 500+ hours into this game.

if they wont do anything about cheaters the only way to balance the scales is for everyone else to cheat too

I hope you both f#ucking die

they developers of this game should be monitoring the leaderboard and servers as the event starts and should kick these people out

I don't know who I hate more--- the cheaters or the developers

I uninstalled the game a month ago, then reinstalled last week

looks like it might be time to uninstall again

If it's not the cheaters, it's going to be the people who spend money compared to the ones that don't, and then it's going to be something else. I'm sure a majority of the people don't give a ♥♥♥♥ since once they get 100% achievements they're just going to be moving onto something else.

On another note. I would like to see a iron man leaderboard where people who play the game without auto clickers, or spending money can see how they rank against others who play the same way. Since I assume the people who "win" are either friends/family of the game creator, or poeple who live at home spending their disability check. It would be nice to see how well I can do in an event against other players who play without spending money or auto clickers. I don't even care if the rewards aren't as good.

So wait, let me get this right in my head. You're wanting people to die over a free game that you're not forced to play ? On the upside, you will one day get want you want, everyone dies in the end.
It's a game, if it means that much to you, do one of two things:
1/ Pay a bucket load of real money to get ahead of them
2/ Cheat as well

It's definitely not free. They're mining your data, stastistics, etc... then selling it 3rd party marketing companies. So it's definitely not a free game. In fact, it's actually embarrassing people are giving this game money to have their data sold.

While i cannot deny that they are selling data to other companies, i can almost definitely say they are getting nothing from you on steam that isn't public. PCs aren't as SUPER integrated as phone operating systems, so in order for them to "mine your data and statistics", that is not just your playtime and such (which as stated is all public), they would have to make you install a seperate program to do so. The idea that something as benign as this is collecting data from steam users to sell to websites is simply a conspiracy thoery.

Well they're not making a game people can play for free to better mankind. So they are collecting something to make up that revenue off the F2P crowd. Which is valuable to marketing firms. If I had to take a guess they're probably gathering demographics, spending trends, peak times etc... yes some of it is public, most of it doesn't put anybody at risk but they are doing it.

I personally don't care about the info they gather, other than I rather get the money then these developers. But back to the topic it's definitely not free.

Well I will say that they are trying to care of cheating, maybe not in the most effecient way but they are working on it. I grabbed the game yesterday again for the first time in a while and had to start over. I only really just wanted to get 100% achievements and nothing else but then I saw the event pop up and just had at it. No wanting to take 1000 years I had cheat engine running the game at 500x speed and using every boost, playing at that rate became really natural so I just ended up zoning out. Saw that even with my accelerated rate I was nowhere near the top so just maxed out my items and kept them locked on reset and still couldn't stay on top. With a little more digging I found the cash value maxed it and locked it and reset. This is after trading places with 10 other people was holding number 1. Went to reset to remove whatever hooks cheat engine had and that when the game wouldn't load.

KongUnityLog: [Hippo] Playfab login Failed: Account banned

So they are trying and honestly I am okay with the ban (though I wish I could just finish all the achievements and my OCD is going to kill me), sure I find it strange that they can't obfuscate the numbers at all, even a shifted stored value or even better would be to have it stored as a string allowing for even larger numbers wich then can be subdivided and called to respective integers for calculation both of these would work against basic cheat engine searches or even then they could have a bot running at max efficiency with no cheats that is watching the game 24/7 and it sets the highest possible score and all those above are null and void.

I understand that with this game the developers are trying to make money, but what I read was that this game became much slower, has more ads (on mobile), and is a chore to struggle through for most. As well as that Adventure Communist is in early access when this game still has flaws. It is somewhat seeming that for a game built in unity the developer is trying to squeeze out every penny and from the negative comments on this community dicussion, the Adventure Communist's, and reddits this is hurting the experience.

If I missed anything or mispoke I would be happy to discuss further.

EDIT: Mind you that I tried modifying MegaBucks and Gold and could not do so, seeming to me that some sort of obfuscation of those values exists.

EDIT #2: This game could work with the single player being separate from the events since the game will run perfectly fine before when my internet cut out. This could be used as a means of keeping the cheaters confined to single player and having a ban check on attempt to enter the event.

EDIT #3: Adventure Communist also seems to have some obfuscation as in regards to scientists so it seems like the game can be better protected.
