Hard Reset?

If you are playing on a Mac and want a full reset:

1. Disable your Steam Cloud - Steam Menu>settings>Cloud
2. Click on "Go" on your Desktop toolbar
3. Click on "Go To Folder"
4. In the search bar that open, type the following:

Users/*Computer Name*/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/**Your Steam Account ID**/346900/

* Your computer name is whatever you've named your computer or set your admin name to.
** Your Steam ID is listed in your account settings at the end of your custom URL

5. Open the folder you see there and inside that delete folder named "346900"
6. Close and Re-Open Steam
7. Play AdCap to buy a few Lemonade Stands
8. Re-Enable the Steam Cloud (with AdCap still open)
9. Close AdCap, close Steam
10. Re-Open Steam and AdCap and select the option to "Local File: Upload to Cloud"



If you are playing on a PC and want a full reset:


1. Disable your Steam Cloud - Steam Menu>settings>Cloud
2. Search your computer for "Regedit"
3. Once Regedit is open, go to Edit>Find: Hyper Hippo
4. Open the AdVenture Capitalist folder and delete everything in it
5. Open your Finder and go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata
6. Open the folder you see there and inside that delete folder named "346900"
7. Close and Re-Open Steam
8. Play AdCap to buy a few Lemonade Stands
9. Re-Enable the Steam Cloud (with AdCap still open)
10. Close AdCap, close Steam
11. Re-Open Steam and AdCap and select the option to "Local File: Upload to Cloud"

Where is the Steam Menu at?
More importantly how do you disable the steam cloud?

I tried the whole process listed by Hyper Hippo and it does not work. After finally locating and deleting the given folder, AdCap gave me an error message that it could not connect, and it immediately closed. When I reopened it, all of my current data was back again. There is no way to hard reset this game.

Why the hell can you not just put a full hard reset button into your game? Every other idle/clicker game has it. I beat the entire thing, all three planets, and I want to start over *actually from scratch*, not with all of my gold and stuff still there.

Can confirm it doesn't work on Mac. Progress in still there. Deleted that folder several times. Not sure what this "Local File: Upload to Cloud" option is? Where can one find it?

Edit: I used all my gold and time warps before I realized what they actually did. Also restarted progress to see what would happen. That wasn't smart efter using all the gold. So I would like to hard reset to get a new chance.

You may have to complete these steps a few times. Another step to try is deleting a few files from your registry. To do this, please just follow these steps:


-Search your computer for "Regedit"
-Once Regedit is open, go to Edit>Find: Hyper Hippo Games

I agree, you SHOULD have put a hard reset button in the settings somewhere INGAME. I've run into this problem quite a few times before... all the gold upgrades you buy, while they make the endgame a bit easier at first, eventually they just break the game's math entirely and you complete another angel reset in less than a minute of frantic clicking.

This game is only actually fun at the base level in the beginning. You, as game developers, should be aware of that fact and promote as much replayability as possible.

I KNOW your way of doing a reset does work, but it does not change the fact that hard reset in this game is a necessity after a while, and doing it your way is a huge hassle.

Do you have any excuse?

I tried the instructions for hard reset but it does not work.

Unfortunately my english is very bad and google translate often gives me only gibberish.

Tomorrow should start the next event. What exactly will the game developers do until then? what happens to the collected gold; the megabucks; the items?

there would have to be a "sticky" thread where someone from AdCap comments on the crash and tells the users - especially those who are not familiar with the pc - what will happen.

on the one hand, you make permanent advertising on twitter that you should get involved in the game, on the other hand is now hardly anything to read from you or what you say, does not work or it is incomprehensible.

I hope you can find the error quickly and fix it. I will not delete anything or tamper with anything else a second time. I do not know enough about that and maybe do more harm.

Es müsste doch einen "sticky" Thread geben wo sich jemand von AdCap zum Absturz äußert und den usern - vor allem denjenigen, die sich mit dem pc nicht gut auskennen - mitteilt, was geschehen wird.

Einerseits macht ihr permanent Werbung auf Twitter, dass man sich das spiel reinziehen soll, andererseits ist jetzt kaum etwas von euch zu lesen oder das, was ihr sagt, funktioniert nicht oder es ist unverständlich.

Ich hoffe, dass ihr den Fehler schnell findet und beheben könnt. Ich werde keinesfalls ein zweites mal in Ordnern irgendetwas löschen oder sonstwo herumhantieren. Dazu kenne ich mich zu wenig aus und richte möglicherweise noch mehr Schaden an.

Hyper Hippo Productions i had 2 files with 64900, and then i deleted one of them, now i've deleted both of them, now it works :D, thx

Hello. I've followed all of your instructions but the selection to upload the local file to cloud never popped up for me. Do you have an idea of what happened?
