I forgot how frustrating this can be
Man, as much fun as i'm having reliving my childhood this game has many times in which i just need to take a step back.
Dont get me wrong, I love this game. Which is why i bought it as soon as it came out. But man, so many long levels where if you mess up once, you gotta start all over again.

This is so true. I wonder how new players are gonna react to levels like Blobnet, Blobdance, On The Rocks and such. I played On The Rocks just yesterday, and after failing numerous times by accident, I was on edge the whole time in the end when I beat it, sweating because I was scared I was gonna make a slip-up.

I wonder if you could have a way in game to undo your last step. It would make easy levels which are just a hurdle because of accidents much more tolerable. A few levels would be pointless though, like Icedeath, but no one liked those levels anyways.

Well, I'm a new player and I find this levels pretty interesting. Bloblnet was almost unfair because it mostly relies on the RNG movement of the blobs. On The Rocks (where I stopped yesterday) looks tedious but there is no time limit so it will be ok I guess.

Overall this game is a lot of fun and I don't mind the fact that some levels are here just to plss off players :beatmeat: .

Chuck's Challenge 3D has such a feature and it completely breaks the action segments by making them effortless.

This is how I feel. Its a very love hate relationship. I play a few levels and then I have to take a break. I've completed more levels than I ever did on my Lynx. Looks like I've gotten more patience.

I feel like if there wasn't level skip, i feel like i would have been stuck at level 23 since like 1995.

Having been forced to skip that level myself for the time being, I'd actually believe that.

The game is unforgiving in some way, but there is also a level skip. This makes the game quite balanced for me. I need lots of patience sometimes to try a long level over and over, but I also can skip the level and continue to the next one.

By the way, was there a level skip on Win95 version or not? I remember, that if you die on one level many times, the game suggested an option to skip a level, and this was a only way to skip a level known to me in that days. It would be very fun to discover, that I had a possiblity to push f6 or something like that.

There is that method of skipping, and then there's Ctrl+D (also Ctrl+K, Ctrl+T, and Ctrl+F5), which opens the ignore passwords cheat in the menu.

I can't even pass level 9, and oh wow I forgot this game used to be on Atari Lynx, wow....memories of Gates of Zendicon and California Games come rushing in.

I agree. This game would have been nice to have checkpoints like some switch or something that saves the level state and when you die it loads it back up from that point. Replaying large or long levels does suck pretty hard
I think an undo like chuck challenge makes the game was kind of weird. Check points work better or just let people save/load whenever they want.
