Since they like plants, perhaps they'll end up targetting (open) gardens? Since I'm surprised that, as of current, player-run gardens have no actual threats (beyond running out of fertilizer)
IDK, the gardens specifically mention keeping out vermin or something. I hope giant lab-sized ants are vermin.
So, we should now be carefull on what we sprint our T-Rexs and Spinos on....unless we wanna get swarmed ? Just show me The Queen of Blades that controls The Swarm and I'll deal with it ... somehow. :) Flag no. 2 HYPE :)

Okay. I screamed a little when I saw this. Either an excited scream or scream of pure horror, who knows :'D

wonder if they can climb up walls, making the cliff killing system worthless

With the Giant Beavers and Ants, does this mean we are going to see structures generated by creatures within their biomes, or at the very least structures that act as spawn points for these hive species such as dens and anthills?

Wiki says this could of been carniverous, nice to see this get added though!

The fossils of Titanomyrma gigantea, the first of the genus to be discovered, are very well preserved. They show that T. gigantea did not possess a sting and did not have a closing mechanism on the crop. It is surmised that it must have sprayed formic acid as a defence, and either ate fresh food, in the manner of leaf-cutter ants (which eat only the fungi they personally cultivate in their nests), or was carnivorous. Modern relatives include driver ants. Titanomyrma may have been a precursor species, possibly following a raiding lifestyle and butchering large animals.
Possibly omnivorous.

Also, in my own eyes, how can they be 100% herbivorous if you can see them ravaging a raptor?

Alright, this is just creepy, giant wasps, like the ones we have in this time are not bad enough, lol.
Ants are not wasps...
Raptor was a threat. Bees swarm threats even though they definitely do not eat meat.

Ants are not wasps...

They have wings and bite you, that's all I need to see :-D

They are in the same order and super family. Also there are tons of ants that are herbivourus, like leaf cutters who use the plant material they collect to grow funges to eat. There are even ants that keep aphids as pets/cattle. They corral the aphids and consume the sugery honey dew that the aphids secrete.
