Oculus VR support is back in ARK! (Retail Oculus)
In ARK v245.94 on Windows, just enable this setting in your Oculus Control Panel for "Unknown Applications", like so:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=736230457

Then in-game with an Oculus hooked up and driver installed, in ARK's Options Menu click the "Enable HMD VR" button which will appear in the bottom left. Put your Oculus Rift on, and the game will appear on the Oculus display (at the moment we can't seem to display the Oculus stereoscopic render until the device is actually on your head).

It's still an early implementation, but at least gets ARK back up to launch feature parity on the retail Oculus unit. Expect more improvements in the weeks ahead!

Happy VR Dino Hunting,
Jeremy

Update - this is awesome!. Beware of graphics requirements; MSI 980Ti OC (close to stock 1080 performance), and with the LOW preset I'm getting 90 fps most of the time (but clearly not all of the time). CPU is a 2600K @ 4.5 GHz; Oculus debug tool shows the CPU is also having trouble in a lot of areas running fast enough, even away from bases (target = 11ms per frame, CPU spikes to 14ms). I wouldn't recommend attempting this without a beast of a graphics card and an overclocked core i7.. (preferably newer than mine). Jeremy - DX12 should greatly help the CPU side of this :). Please Please Please... :)

What about the Vive? Will it be supported soon? Is there any possibility to get the Vive to work yet?
DrunkMunki Aug 2, 2016 @ 5:48am
Vive is better than Oculus!

OMG ! thank you ! BTW I have CV1 and VIVE so I can play any VR game !!

Edit: Good for 10mins, dinos seems rather small. Nice to be "inside" my base. Returning to play on 4k.

Your cpu is holding back your GPU performance. I'm in the same situation. I have an i5 2500k at 4.8ghz and it's still holding back performance. Time for i7 6700k.

Fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ health bar bug and the body collision clipping when dying by fall damage!!! -.-
Is this replacing his weeks mysterious mysteries?

what is this exactly?

Looks like I have to disconnect the Rift if I don't want to use it with Ark, since it detects it automatically and tries to use that display.

Ark is better in the Rift than it was in the past, but still seems impossible to aim a bow. Going to experiment with that
gabgab01 Aug 2, 2016 @ 6:46am
it seems to work, but the aim control scheme is... absurd. if you want to aim up or down, you use the mouse, while you can aim left and right with your head. this is just confusing and impossible to use. please tie the aiming to the head and separate the head from the body if possible, so that a bow for example aims in the direction i am looking at, and not somewhere i would have to guess. otherwise nice work, being able to see the dinos in their real height shows just how massive they are :D

How about Samsung Gear VR? Have managed to use it via Nvidia Shield, but not in 3D. And only a limited amount of servers (2) are available.

Tried this just now with my DK2 and it seems to be locked at 25fps, dosen't matter if I try Low or High details. Also mouse goes out of screen area and onto my Desktop causing clicks to not register and I can't reach all parts of the options manu with the mouse. I'm running an AMD 8350 and GTX970SC by the way. I have a 980TI which I will be installing soon.
