DLL's Missing Windows 10 Fix
Direct-X-12 on Windows 10 can suck my d**k!
I have been trying to find out, why the f**k my ark server wouldn't start.. And this is how it went.
Me: Clicking on launch server.
PC: x3daudio1_7.dll is missing.
Me: You f***er!.. Maybe if I google it.
I came across this thread on steam:

So some guy named "Cricket" commented:
"Sounds like a directx issue. Try installing the directx redist that came with the game if you haven't already."
Me: Hmm maybe if I reinstall ArkSE, ArkPlayerDeciactedServer. An the ArkServerLauncher and redo all edited files it might work.
(I was thinking my hard-drive cables were on to hard of a bend and causing data loss. I looked and placed them better. Also that's what he said to do by stating "that came with the game")
2 hours later.
Me: Omfg it's done, Okay time to launch my server. Click.
PC: x3daudio1_7.dll is missing.
Me: You motherf****er why. Why! won't you f***ing work.(Ripping my f***ing hair out a this point)
So I googled x3daudio1_7.dll is missing and that was a waist of time. I ended up learning how to install DLL's.
But I'm to f***ing lazy to search through a 1000 files for the right f***ing one to install it to.
So I googled directx redist. An I found out a**h*le didn't even spell the full f***ing word.
It's directx redistributable.
Anyways after searching Directx on google I found this link:

I searched directx in the search bar on the website.
Well while looking at all of the download links for directx.
I Notice none are compatible with Window 10. But I liked the name of one.

Well I downloaded it.

I Now have all my missing DLL's, Woot.
Me: Clicking on launch server.
PC. Server Started.

For me, the installer from microsoft didn't work because it didn't want to download the files. Here's an offline installer for the same files: https://www.guru3d.com/files-get/directx-end-user-runtimes-(june-2010),8.html

Five years later this is still a f*****g thing! Still DirectX 12, now on Windows 11. Fresh OS install on the machine, set up SteamCMD, install the Ark Server, same set of errors. I'm a damned IT tech, so I got through a lot of the troubleshooting side al ot faster before I started searching online for answers, and this was the 2nd link I clicked. Installed the legacy directX drivers and I am up and running.

How is this not clearly noted in ANY of the web pages out there that describe how to install and set up an Ark server?

FYI, for anyone running Windows Server 2022 and the link above that has the web installer isn't working.

this site has an offline package available with all the cab files.
1. Download
2. Extract All
3. Run "DXSETUP.exe"
4. Get ♥♥♥♥ on my dinosaurs.
