Can confirm after running both a ARK and Conan server off an Australian OVH dedicated server that the servers will not list in the unofficial games list. Although players can connect to the server meaning the ports are open not as Desertworld describes it "OP doesn't know what he's doing" clearly he doesn't know what he's doing. Because if players can direct connect to the servers over arkservers.net it means the ports are opened! If the server OP had not opened the ports all communication would be disabled. When I checked my OVH dedicated servers IP's geolocation it also showed it to be in Canada. My guess is OVH uses some sort of Fail Over IP and ARK and similar games don't register this and thus don't show the server on the ark server unofficial list. But if the server is added manually you can connect to it.
But either the OP didn't contact them to find out and get help from them, he just came here. Which I agree with is overreacting to a problem that could be easily be solved by either yourself or contacting the service host.
Though would agree to stay clear from server hosting services if their support is just non existing, but that is info we can't pull out of the OP post if it is or not.
Ydyp he obviously did port foward correct as he had 15+ players (friends) on the server who all joined over the arkservers.net listing.
access you can basically just go into the extended firewall and allow the shootergameserver.exe. You don't even need to struggle with ports. Maybe the host is also using another hardware firewall in their server center by usually just allowing the .exe is enough to let it show up on the steam server list...
By the way you do realize that there are more than 20000 unofficial ark servers and expecting the server to be shown every time in the small list you receive ingame is nearly impossible, right?
By the way, what is the server IP? I bet if you allowed all ports (or the .exe) correctly you can easily find it on the steam server list...
