Thus you can ask then "Should I buy Ark Rust or Conan"
At which point you should just pray to Crom for an accurate answer.
Ahem, anyways.

i don't reccomend Rust either, for that laptop. With both games you should have 8GB of RAM, 16 makes for smoother play but 8 is what I wcall the minmum. I had a laptop not long ago with similar specs but double the ram and it barely hit 20 fps on rust, low settings.
Still like I mentioned, if youreally want to test it yourself you can buy them, play them, refund them. Just make sure you put in for a refund with less than two hours played.
Comparing games in EA for years to a game in EA day 1. Apples and Chicken.
OP, if you like playing solo at all, get Ark. You at least have modded server options that protect you in PvP somewhat. In RUST you will be wiped by gangs of players within 30 mins non stop by players far superior to you in weaponry.
Only get RUST if you have a similar gang of players you are bringing with you.
That wasn't the question, the question was Ark vs RUST and that's what I'm answering
Check your reading comprehension first.
Aye lad with Rust maybe, but ARK on max settings already has issues with rendering distance. Like I said, you can take advantage of the refund policy if it doesn't run well enough for you. For comparison, (don't take this as an insult)check this link comparing your card to mine, it handles ARK well but only just.

You build a little base and fight others.
In Ark there is just way more to do because of the Tames you can have. Sure there's also PVP (on open servers) but if you got your own server or PVE you still can put a lot of time into it.
So depends what you wanna do basically? Build the same little house over and over again because you get raided in Rust, or sit there for hours and hours waiting for your dino to get tamed in Ark lol.
