ARK VPN Tunneling on Cluster setup possible?

Is it feasible to establish a cluster configuration that enables server transfers through a VPN, such as Hamachi or similar services? To provide context, I'm currently in college, which means I'm unable to perform port forwarding on the college network. I've already configured the cluster IDs in all the server BAT files and taken care of all the necessary steps. My query revolves around whether someone with technical expertise might be aware of the viability of this setup. I'm hesitant to opt for a hosting service that charges $15 per server, considering I have the capacity to locally host one within my college apartment. In my previous setup at home, I could achieve this through port forwarding, but unfortunately, that's not an option in my current situation.

The server transfer menu is based on the Steam public server listing filtered down to all servers using the same cluster ID. It does not use the LAN list or favourite servers lists.

So AFAIK would need steam and your servers to be communicating with each other to populate that list.
